Merc does look like they had something in the tank. Not much...
Either that or Hamilton is just that good?

Hamilton had a dodgy moment or two. Raikkonen had a poor lap, didn't see much from Vettel or Bottas.
 
Ouch... Sucks for Bottas, but he's getting closer.
+0.186 for Vettel, +0.187 for Bottas. Unlucky...

Hamilton once again makes the difference.
 
Every damn time still, saw Bottas go fast, thought how the hell did a Williams do that :(

I better get used to it soon as that is starting to **** me off :p


Hamilton is just the qualifying king. I think if another car is within 2/10ths, I'd say that car might well be faster, it just doesn't have Hamilton in it.
 
Thought Vettel was going to take this one but Lewis really pulled it out the bag, cracking lap there. Hopefully tomorrow is a good race!
 
Unlucky Bottas, after 5.4 km he misses the front row by around 3 to 4mm :(

So merc/ham still have the one lap pace advantage, will be interesting to see how race pace is. At least it confirms Ferrari have genuine pace which as a Fer fan is great to see :)
 
Surprised they didn't just immediately red flag Q1.

Car destroyed in the middle of the main straight.
Broken carbon everywhere
Marshals on the track
Seconds left on qualifying

Don't worry boys lift off a bit and your good....

Moaning about Merc and RB's similar suspension setups and getting them removed has definitely helped them. (Quite rightly if they infringe the rules.) But once Merc figure a new/improved suspension method out they'll probably claw some back.

Hence why Ferrari and RBR need to continue moaning about the oil burning Merc do in Qualy - or at least try and replicate it if they can't get it banned. There is no doubt more than a few extra horses are unleashed in Q3 on the Merc engine that allows them to seal pole!

Ummm... already been clarified by the FIA. It's not allowed.

Cars were inspected in Canada last year too to confirm it wasn't happening.
 
Don't get me wrong they all push the rules as far as they can. Obviously if you are another team the first step is to try and get it banned as that's far cheaper.. :D If its then deemed fine the next step is to replicate it. :)

And yet those Merc always seem to be filled to the brim with oil to the extent that there is unusually puffs of smoke coming out (not seen on other cars), some would say that is rather strange! :D
