Based on being slower? Even if Merc pit again while Ferrari don't, he's 12+ seconds ahead, if he's not trying to get to the end he'll gain 3-4 seconds at least using these tires up before pitting, then he'll be 1+ second faster a lap on fresher tires through another 25 or more laps... he'll cruise up to Vettel and pass him easily. If Ferrari pit as well, then there is no issue. Currently there is no indication Vettel can win. He would need to be gaining on Hamilton at the very least but the gap is going the wrong way.

Vettel? He was losing time slowly, I mean he lost 2-3 seconds after passing Verstappen and that included one bad lap from Hamilton in the middle where he lost a second to Vettel, so he's likely 3-4/10ths a lap slower before they pitted Vettel.

Everyone else has pitted, he's been complaining about the tyres for a few laps now... still out on track.

I can see him if they don't pull him in soon just making the decision himself and going in and sitting in the pit box until they change the tyres.

This is the same thing that constantly happens to Kimi, he wants to pit but his team don't want him to, if he pitted 10 laps ago he'd be in the fight for 3rd at least. Trying to hang this out is a joke. How can you not read how slow he is and realise you need to pit him ages ago. His tire deg will be worse than all those behind him towards the end of the race, not least they are risking him not finishing if the tires just go completely.
