Christmas work parties

I organised my works do so it is totally relaxed. I work in a gym so invited all the members too. We're off for a meal and then out for a night of dancing. I've been practicing my Running Man and Robot specially.

No idea what I'm wearing. I like to decide on the night.

mines on the 22nd. italian and drinkies in Stoke. all paid for by boss! no dress code which is making it very difficult for me to decide what to wear

other half's do was tonight but he's not gone and he has another tomorrow and he's not going to that either.

It is bad form to break traditional dress code, even worse than removing your jacket before the host. If he has any respect for the host he will turn up in proper dress.

Etiquette must be respected. Formal dress is one of the great traditions that hasn't been tainted too much by modern fashion and ignoring such an established dress code is disrespectful and embarrassing.

It's not that sort of office :p It's not officially black tie, they're just all wearing a tux. If you'd met them you'd understand :p

Think we'd rather have pics of someone else! ;)

Gonna get absolutely kerploshed and get a taxi? :D

As in taxi back afterwards, not get kerploshed and get a taxi THERE. :D

Fixed. :p

Hehe, yeah taxi back :D

The white tux can't be changed at this point so let's not make him feel like a complete **** eh. Anyway, I'll love it and at the end of the night it'll all be worth it for him :p

I'm banned from coming to this years work do, after last years being formal, and me turning up dressed up as a goth...

Cheered everyone up though... miserable ********

Back on the topic of the post my works do is on the 18th and all drinks food bowling and any nightclubs we want to go to are paid for by the boss in cash + our taxi home its brilliant! Makes up for the carp wages. Rather than comment on your dress sense, I understand every company is different and that what might be inappropriate in some is perfectly acceptable in others, I'm just going to say I hope that you both have a brilliant time and have lots of fun! Thats what its about right?

Totally agree, have some fun and just enjoy the night :) Thank you, I appreciate those comments :) Sounds like you'll be having a good night on your do too :D

Ours is in Embankment Gardens next Sat... I think it might be outdoors . Anyone been there?
Am still debating whether to hire a dinner jacket etc or just go in suit. The invitation said suits are "acceptable" ;)

How can anyone consider a xmas work do as a formal do

Ours was on November 30th, which kinda sucked for being so early and the Tom Jones wannabe on stage was pretty poor, all made up by the free bar though :D Black tie wasn't achieved by all. I wouldn't worry about a white tux at all tbh.

Leather? :D

Our Christmas do was cancelled this year due to "Lack of interest"

What tosh. I was highly interested in getting banjaxed on company funding.

Not impressed one bit.
Complain to HR about how they've infringed your human rights to get drunk on company booze. ;)

Oh thats where I was going wrong:o:p
Lol, yup.
