Cisgender

I assume that at some point all these SJWs will grow up and realise that 99.9% of people simply don't give a ****. There are so many people on this earth that you will encounter idiots at regular intervals but the key (and I know its super hard) is to just ignore them.

When someone is nasty to you, offends you or says something you don't like, they are not dwelling on it for hours they are just being a ****. They do not dedicate their lives to hating whatever you are, they probably didn't even think about it before 2 minutes ago and they won't think about it again.

The best thing people can remember is that you have to be offended, its impossible to force offence on someone.

Hi I'm Dicey from ye old England and I identify as an Apache attack helicopter so please refrain from talking about any aircraft other than what I deem to not hurt my feewings in my safe space with my iphone in starbucks otherwise my aerodynamic attack nature may kick in.

That ok ? :p

Totally and as a cis white male I accept I have no rights and I am personally responsible for all ills of the past.

As an apache attack helicopter I fully respect your right as an individual and your oppressed state and that while I am fully responsible for all ills committed by all previous white men, you are not responsible for any ills carried out by previous attack helicopters.

It's not different from labelling yourself as heterosexual. Probably unnecessary in most situations but the need could arise.

Are they not the same thing?

Hetrosexual and cisgender?

Or could you be like a dude, fancying a bird, but you don't really like having a willy?

So Hetrosexual but not cisgender.

Heterosexual is to do with sexuality.

Cisgender is what you identify yourself with being

Sexuality=/=self identity

So... you could be a homosexual man who likes women because you identify as being a woman and therefore you're actually a lesbian?

Surely it's a lot more simple when someone asks if you fancy a **** just to say "yes", "no I don't fancy you", or "no, I like men/women"?

As long as they have the "bits" you want, and you have the "bits" they want, why does it matter if they don't like having the "bits" they have, and wish they also had the "bits" you have?

I'm curious as to when the need could ever arise?

I agree there is not really a need for it but for some people it seems to matter. I suspect its the kind of people that need to announce to the world from the tallest mountain that they are xxx that make up these labels.

Though it can bother a potential partner if they found out that even though you are heterosexual, you like to dress up in their clothes and call yourself sandy on Thursday evenings... y'know women's clothing can be expensive and stretching a nice furr coat could be a deal breaker for many.

In all seriousness though, its not like there is any need for the label.

Am I the only one who when they see SJW immediately thinks 'Slack-Jawed Winkers'?

Well, not Winkers obviously, but you know.

:D

If I were weighing in on a debate about trans rights (such as the recent controversies in North Carolina), I might preface what I say with the fact that I'm cisgender but here is my opinion.

Heterosexual is a valid label and so is cisgender. I'm sure a lot of people were up in arms when the term heterosexual was first coined.

So... you could be a homosexual man who likes women because you identify as being a woman and therefore you're actually a lesbian?

I'm sure I've seen that on TV.

Girl who turns out to have been a guy but now has lady parts in a relationship with a girl. Using a strap on.

Struck me as an awful lot of effort but each to their own.

Most of the time I just wonder why people can't get on with their own lives and not worry about trying to degrade other people. (It's the same for all sides of the argument)

I don't think its about degrading other people but rather announcing as much as possible to everyone what your unique label is because they are scared of being judged, when in reality.... no one cares.

In legal terms you may wish to distinguish between biology and identification. :)

:D

Is the crossdresser with purple hair the guy's son at 18, back home from Balliol, Oxford?

Son: "Dad! I've joined some cool societies, everyone's amazing!! In fact, I brought the SU crew back home with me! I think you need to get out more too -- the internet is slowly killing you; you're too sedentary."
Son: "Anyhow, we've a drag-themed night booked down at the local, wanna come with? It'll be grand!"
Dad: "DO NOT WANT!!!!"

But, lol, that story has more holes in it than Michael Bay attempting Hamlet.

Firstly, if you weren't born under a bale of hay in a bucolic Northern village, the late nineties had all the movements in the right panel already well established, and some were more powerful than they are now. But a little anachronism never hurt a good comic, so let's move along.

Secondly, that supposedly-terrifying progressive coalition couldn't work in practice to take over anything by force, let alone in 18 years: the classic anarchists would attack the statist stalinists; the LGBTI+ rainbow division would attack the traditional feminists; the traditional feminists would attack the anarcho-syndicalists; the anarcho-syndicalists would attack the classic anarchists; the rump of disabled representatives would have beef with all ablists.

Thirdly, the traditional father figure seems to have other, more pressing problems than his son's libertine lifestyle: stress, depression, missing limbs and his implied divorce. He probably needs help, but, alas, the NHS is on strike and promised investment in mental health never materialised; so he couldn't get a referral to see a counsellor; posted his woes in GD, OCUK told him to end it, a don locked his health-related thread; and the poor bloke's reached the end of his tether. But even if his drastic action were to be carried out, poignantly, it appears he can neither turn back time nor stop the world spinning for those whom he would leave behind. Dramatic pause.

Ends on a bad cliffhanger, fans demand closure; although fully paid-up critics have no other choice but to award yet another A* for the effort and special effect, to keep the lights on and their blogs going!

10/10! Would watch again!:D
