Cities Skylines 2 is Official!

Pretty sure it was only £8 long after release when it was on sale and another DLC had come out.

They’ve been £15-£20 on release - all the most recent ones have.

Content creator (asset) packs were cheaper £4-£6 range.

I started playing CS1 in 2018, got all the packs from the usual sites for about 5 quid each, the newer ones on release were about £6-£8

Had a go at 1080P with my 5800X 3D and 4080 and it was at 120fps all settings max with DOF/Motion Blur turned off. Really really hope this will be better optimised in the future so I can play it on good quality graphical settings with my ROG Ally.

The road placement tool seems a bit tricky, at least with controller, and I really wish you could place ploppables right next to each other, and no Quays why no Quays we need quays, looks a bit ugly.

Games like these are always poor with a controller surely?
I don't see any reason they should be with proper support built in? Just like navigating Windows isn't poor with a controller with Controller Companion, or on the Ally its built in support.

I might just have to create a M/KB profile for the controller in CS2 like I did with one, just I expected to not have to faff with that as it's supposed to support controller.

@b0rn2sk8

Not over exaggerated given performance reports of 20fps at 4k, because you don't need high framerate doesn't mean 20fps is acceptable on a 4090.

At the moment anyway I can play fine as at home have my 4080 system that I stream to my ally so all is good there, just was hoping to be able to play it in my holidays next month and at Christmas on my Ally as will be away from home, so hoping a patch will improve performance by then but not looking hopeful. I may have to give GeForce Now a go.

I do not know how to disable D/N Cycle but it's insanely difficult to built at night indeed.

I've put one of those inland water buildings, it's the one that's supposed to supply water? But it doesn't do anything? Still need water pumps?

Also I'm getting issues with builders collapsing / going abandoned for reasons I can't work out.

Low density residential demand is insane, I already have low density zones to an area 3 times larger than anywhere.

Seems on a whole buggy not just performance but traffic AI, demand, economy etc... does make me think if I should go back to CS1, but it was so modded it felt a bit odd in places, saying that the new road tool in CS2 I don't really like it, the snapping seems easy to "let go" as in it'll very easily unsnap. But there were issues in CS1 such as population not really increasing which I was sure was a bug maybe related to a mod, however the way population is going in CS2, maybe not.

At least with the CS1 if your frames dropped you could just crank up the pagefile and performance remained above 20fps, problem is for a lot of systems it's just not playable, still a bag of poo on my Ally, 4080 has no problems like but when it's not available it's a bit of a PITA.

We need MoveIt to make extra precise roads and also to move buildings so they overlap to create more interesting buildings.

The snapping does my head in, can't really snuggle anything nicely together, try to get a train, and two roads together is an issue as well with it just says no.

Was about to drop this for a while but started a new city and loving it, just hit 125,000 population and its noticeably slowed but I find it seems to need a restart every so often which sorts it.
Enjoying trying to sort out the ridiculous traffic issues now and getting my trains to work, god only knows why I squeezed a station in where its now a nightmare to reconfigure the lines!

Seems traffic issues won't be able to be sorted until mods are here. E.G. cars going through car parks instead of using the road.
