Cities: Skylines

I did have a bit of generic industry on the right hand of the middle strip for a short period of time. But got rid of that once I started zoning off the forest.

Ah nice to see the option is there, but as he points its a bit strange it doesn't auto go to a different colour.

Yeah I agree, although I guess with lots of routes you may end up with similar colours. I ended up only changing the colour when I had routes over lapping each other. One nice touch is that the buses change colour dependent on the route colour.

This game is fantastic

The only problem I am having is building elevated roads. I can't work out how to carry on building them if I have to go back and demolish a part. It doesnt seem to let me snap on to the end of the road - what am I missing?

I was having a nightmare with my traffic around my industrial estate. I figured out a lot of it was caused by bin lorries, as I had bunched my incinerators together in a bottleneck. In case anyone needed a hint, I solved it thusly:

They were originally here...

...so I moved them here...

Now they fly through. The best bit, is that only one exit is needed to get to all parts of my city!

That's strange, it should snap. Pointing at the road, not the ground underneath?

I just turned my city of 65k with $7m into a city of <5k pop and -$700k

Thats what happens when developers create moronic requirements to unlock specific monuments!
Lost about 2hr of progress, and another 1h-90min trying to recover it.

I had absolutely everything switched off, but the cost of roads and stuff like that was dragging me under, and neither 1% or 29% tax or anything in between would help me balance the books.

The ones that killed it were 50% crime for 5 weeks. I got it there for about 2-3wk by turning off the police, however that only did about 25%, i needed to upset people to push them to crime, so straight to 29% tax (it came right after the monument for having '-1' balance) which helped put money back in, but the high tax sent people flocking the city and in doing so all the criminals must have left cos the crime rate dropped.

As soon as the population plummeted there was nobody left to tax, and despite switching a load of stuff off, it never seemed to balance :(

-1 credits, 50% crime, and 1000 abandoned buildings for 5wk... attempting all of those at once... not a good idea. :(

Or just make a new small town to unlock those ones.

Pretty awesome game... not had too much time to play it (when i did though a quick hour turned into 5) but looking forward to chilling and doing some drunken city planning tonight :)
