CIVIC TYPE R R.I.P

Unlucky there!

I have a friend with a slammed Mk3 golf. He now has a badger shaped hole in his front bumper.

But then again we do live in the middle of nowhere on real country lanes.

Have you driven one with the stock Bridgestone RE040's on a wet road?

They arent that bad. I always used to give my CTR more stick than i should in the wet. They werent good in the wet, but you just have to know the limits (like everything) and they are fine :)

Please don't come in Motors posting crap like that, we (we being the motors regulars) don't want it turning into GD's usual low quality of posting.
Glad I haven't got an invite to your Christmas party! :p

I know what I said make me seem like a **** but I love posting in here and reading all the threads. I used to be the same with GD too, but now GD seems to be full of complete pointlessness.

Here are some threads from page 1 of GD:

"Tie or no tie?"

"Anyone else awaiting a delivery of something nice?"

"OCUK got linked to on wow forum"

They just seem like posts for the sake of posting and I think I am just overly concerned motors will end up the same.

Sorry if I came across as mr. boring, I am not really!

I hit a badger when i was doing about 70-80 a good few years back in my old 1.1 K reg Fiesta. Tore off the front sill, shafted the underside of the engine and ripped the exhaust off, total of £750 damage to repair, i wouldn't have minded if i'd killed the ****** but when i looked in the rear view mirror it just got up and walked off! Tough little gits are badgers!

Am I reading this correctly?

I thought badgers were like large hamsters :o

Hey it can happen, i made a mess of my first bike for the sake of a wabbit. After than i swore i'd not swerve for anything (non human) again. Today I have thus far almost killed the following while driving to work :

1x (Amazingly clever/stupid) cat. Driving up to some lights in a 30 zone so i'm expecting to stop anyway and this thing stroll's out into the road about 30 feet from the lights, I stop with it out of sight under the bonnet and have to sit and wait as it decides to wander under the car and then eventually reveal itself on the other side!

2 x Black lab's decide playing chicken with me doing 70 on the A1!

It's now getting close to 5:30 and i've got 45 miles to get home and i'm in the middle of nowhere ... how many other suicidal animals i'll meet today i don't know .... Wish me luck!

Isn’t this Civic one of the special editions as well, IE recaro interior etc….

Real shame, gutted for the fella, doesn’t look as clear cut as most people have said thou, IE just simply a badger being in front, but saying that none of us were there and we don’t know the road conditions at the end of the day to blame the lad.

Yeah... red seats/carpets, A/C as standard, tinted windows, Momo wheel etc. I'm sure the 30th Anniversary wasn't available on a 55 plate, though

it is a anniversary edition

But they're only available pre-facelift, you sure it's not a Premier?

Simple answer to that surely is not to drive stupidly if it's wet?

Who said he was driving stupidly? Mine lose grip at anything more than 1mph:p

I disagree, I'll be getting Toyos next.

anyway after cleaning his car for hours, he went for a spin with his m8

then the car did a 360 and went down a ditch
took it for a spin eh?
well he definitely did that.

another driver who's estimation of himself was a little higher than reality is off the road temporarily.
going too fast, simple as.

Utter ********.

You hit anything at that 70/80mph, causing that amount of damage to your car, and its dead.

*Fully star out swearies!*

It's quite hard to completely ignore an animal if it suddenly runs out into the road. On a couple of occasions I've flinched to avoid something - despite being in the mindset that I won't swerve for anything.
I'm the same. I know I should drive through anything smaller than a dog but a rabbit jumping out at short range gets me fighting my gut reaction to slam on or swerve :o
