How important will the pre-order map packs be?
Argh, damn ridiculous Steam conversion rates. €50 for standard, €55 for deluxe editions. How much is it on english Steam?

Standard Edition - £29.99 = €35.89 instead of €50
Digital Deluxe - £39.99 = €47.86 instead of €55
And people wonder why we ***** about steams pricing system.
When is the actual release date for the game on Steam? Is it next Tuesday or Friday?

Tuesday in the US, Friday in Europe.
We will be able to play the demo from tuesday though.
I couldnt cancel my pre order with steam because I bought yesterdays star wars offer with it as well :x
They would only refund it if I repurchased star wars first, but it its back up to £14.99 now, so I'll have to pay for the first DLC.
Well, fallout 3 GOTY is still £29.99 on Steam, and I just ordered it for £11.99 from Amazon.
I really cant stand reading praise about Steam. Its hardly as good as its fans claim it is.
This is my first full price pre order through Steam for a game, only because the boxed CE is rubbish and it has to be played on Steam anyway.

TWI has always set the price with Red Orchestra on steam. Valve has provided input and are great to talk to, but they never demanded TWI do a certain price point or anything. I don’t know how it is with other publishers and devs and can only assume that each game and publisher might have slightly different arrangements (no shoe fits all).
But the most basic way to think of it is:
TWI talks with Valve
TWI and Valve agree to agreement
TWI sets price
Person buys game
Valve takes their cut as stated in the wonderful world of paperwork
Valve passes on TWI’s cut
Everybody is happy
As needed TWI might decided to adjust price to fit market, or hold sales
Valve sent us an email basically saying “here’s what we’re doing and here are the prices we’re planning to use — let us know if you need them adjusted” and I’d suspect that other publishers must have gotten that same email.. particularly considering the fact that we only have one game on Steam, so we’re a minor player.
