This is the game above sometimes it loads correct sometimes not.

Agree - for some reasons it just crashed with the Direct X 11 option but loaded with the DX 9 exe. There are no farms / improvements showing for me.

I forgot to try the strategic view.

Not sure what is going on but do all the farms and improvements appear fine before satellites .?

At least you now know it is not due to the multi GPU combo you have running.

Yes

I think it may be just that my hardware is not up to it (CPU and Memory)LOL. Overclocking makes no difference but fitting faster memory has made a small improvement. That game I sent you will load properly sometimes where as with slower memory it did not load at all. All that has happened though is the problem has been put off for a few turns.

Like I noted I rarely play that size of map and yet I know of people playing the Yet Another Earth Map pack and I have not noted the issue you describe, and that map is huge...

I paid £29.99 for it and £17.99 for the gods and kings expansion (and probably another £8 on dlc).

In my view its worth the money, it's the only game that has been close to as addictive as FM

yeah ill buy it and wait for the post person i think as it will be much cheaper that way, rather than buying it straight from steam, then i can afford to buy gods and kings as well with what ill save!
Been playing both the demos recently and the game seems quite addictive

Steam only needs to be connected to the internet once on your machine, then you can go in Offline mode from then onwards.

I'm new to civ so be gentle. Finally got round to playing at just played my first game. After several hours it said I won due to time, is that it? Is the replayability of this just replaying again or going mp?

Or should I be looking at custom scenarios?

Also looking at the gods and kings expansion but feel I am missing something to complete the game so soon so holding off on the expansion to get the most out of the main game first. Is this the right way to do it?

loads of ways to play, you can go for a cultural, diplomatic, science, or military victory. I have played loads of times picking different civs and using different playstyles - thats pretty much what civ is all about. Play as an aggressive conqueror that everyone hates, or play as a peaceful scientist that everyone loves... or something in between.

If you want to try a peaceful game, play on a larger map as I find that the normal sized map tends to lead to land shortages which means everyone just attacks you.

Cheers mate. I went aggresive and wiped America and Greece off the map. Thought that might be the case, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

Worth getting the expansion now?

I quite liked the expansion. Added some nice little features to the game like espionage and religion.

I need to get around to playing this again. I just have so many games to play!

same here, the gods and kings expansion made it a much better game than the original game.
i always tend to play on huge maps, just makes it a better game imo
