Cheers guys, getting the demo now. Can anyone confirm that I will be able to buy this game from anywhere and plug the key into Steam to have it integrated properly for updates etc?
I haven't pre-ordered yet because I want to try it out first
1) Unencypt files over the proxy
2) Turn off proxy to get the game update at full internet speed
3) Turn on proxy again and unencrypt some more
4) Hit offline mode, open Civ V from your steam folder.
How long did it take for you to Steam to start? I've been trying to start Steam for fifteen minutes or so now. Monitoring the data transfer through Your Freedom it transfers around 1.57 megabytes before the connection closes and a new one starts. Somekind of timeout I'm not capable of getting through?
Just had my 1st 100 turns, I think its better than 4, especially since there was no hint of religion, which just got stupid. Like the tiling system, graphics are excellent, diplomacy has more purpose, but combat isn't as good and it's unclear what to do when you want to attack a city.
It reckons you need 4 units, so i built 4 units, ranged and melee, however none made a dint, and this was only one of the little villages you can help, befriend etc..
omfg I have not been this excited about a game in years.... Sooo tempted to do the proxy thing, but at the same time, will NOT risk my rediculously bloated steam account on it.
I'm still going to just wait til friday for mine to unlock, if I do the proxy thing now I will never manage to get up in time for work tomorrow morning , safer to just wait and that way I can come home after work on friday and not have to worry about work the next day !
