It's a terrible affliction. I have to spin around three times, stand on one leg and growl like a goblin before I even open up the app!
Upgrading everything before moving on is generally a good idea as loot becomes harder to find as you progress through the THs

It makes sense THs upgrades give you higher/more towers so no point upgrading and spending that money unless you have everything pretty much maxed out. Either way things are pretty good at TH level3, only lost 1 defence and lost 0 attacks , hopefully won't be super long before I hit lv50.

A few of us play PP, there is an OCUK guild for it too. But I still prefer CoC.
I just find as a casual player Clash of Clans is boring when you get to a point where it costs 5M to upgrade anything. If you just leave the game and dive in and out as I do these days it takes 2 weeks before I can get close to upgrading anything and frankly that is boring. Cheapest wall upgrade is 1M since I got all skulls too

i find PP raiding to be flawed though. ****ing me off enough to be on the verge of walking away from it!

No, OCUK 2.0 is dead, but the main clan i very much alive. We need to open it up for new members

I made the mistake of upgrading my TH too quickly. I'm now level 8 TH and going back upgrading everything else which is taking ages.
A common mistake, but at least you didn't go any higher. TH8 is OK to recover from!
