How do I stop eating and get fit again like I was in my early twenties and teens?

I'm a proper fat **** how do I stop eating my own weight in pizza and kebabs?

A question I'd like to know the answer too myself. I wouldn't say I eat junk food to excess, but I've always seemed to gain weight very easily.

I guess its all down to plenty of exercise and a healthier diet.

I can't. It's like an illness. I think I will be dead by 40 at this rate. I just can't stop, I have nothing in my life apart from work and food.

It's very difficult.
I'm not fat, but I'm not skinny like I used to be.
I would like to loose a stone, but eating has become more of a habit, I find myself eating for the sake of it, rather than the fact I am hungry.

Don't try diet alone, you need diet and exercise, such as swimming or walking (to start with at least)

The only problem is exercise, especially swimming gives you a voracious appetite!

It all comes down to discipline and self control in the end.

take all the money you spend on food and spend it on hookers?

There are millions of different ways to lose weight, but they all come down to you. It can be very hard to stop eating junk - it's almost like eating junk makes you want to eat junk. Do you run to food when you feel down? Has it become a therapy for you?

Look inside yourself, young Jedi. Oh, and try to ignore the facetious comments.

You've done the first step: asked for help. :)

Little things, take the stairs rather than lift, walk to the shops rather than drive, do sit ups/push ups in the evening.

and ofcourse PUT. THE. FORK. DOWN.

You need to eat breakfast... If you don't, you seek out fat during the day...

(read this the other day, some new research or what knot)

I just like to eat and am naturally lazy so can't be bothered to learn to cook as it takes away my time from gaming after work and watching TV.

Maybe I should take up kayaking again, alas don't think I could fit in it anymore.

Same with my racing bike, I would crush it into pieces.

You'll get lots of oh so clever replies here telling you that it's simple and all you have to do is eat less calories than you burn off in exercise. Duh. The reality is that it's not that simple otherwise everyone would lose weight easily. My advice would be to see a GP, who will be able to help you much more effectively than an internet forum.

It isn't easy....much depends on how overweight you are, how fit you are and your ability and opportunity to make drastic changes in your routine.

To begin with you can simply change what you eat..out with white bread, in with wholemeal and so on, chuck out the big dinner plates and get smaller ones, eat slower, chew more, walk more, sit less. Sleep more, drink more water, less alcohol. More importantly, get yourself down to the GPs and they can refer you to a nutritionist and give you all kinds of advice and support.....

Also start frequenting SA...they know more about nutrition and fitness than pretty much anyone.

Eating is a habit!

You are physically designed to want to eat (for obvious reasons!) Carrying a bit of extra weight would have gotten you through the harsh winter of our human hunter/gather ancestors.

Find a focus, if you are overweight walking is a great start like I said above.

Good luck and dont give up.

Also to add one more thing, eat breakfast, dont take change to work but do take a pre set lunch that is filling but not fatty.

Or be gifted with an awesome metabolism. Although mine is starting to give way, I had to move up to 30" waist jeans last month :( ........ ;)
