Will do and I'll report back once the work is done and the new ram is fitted.

What are your comments in regards to the new ram I've purchased instead of the old OCZ I had.

2X Corsair 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 XMS2 Memory Non-ECC Unbuffered CL5(5-5-5-12)

Let us know.

Regards.

The 2Gb modules do not over clock as well as the 2x1 modules. (I will have to do some reading regarding the modules you have listed above)

Edit: But they should be fine for your over clocking, and should see you to 3.6Ghz if not further;)

Found this snippet about the ram.

"Indeed, if you're a keen overclocker this is one of the brands to strongly consider. Although we ran it at DDR2-800 using our standard latency of 4-4-4-12 (a fairly conservative setup), Corsair tests the memory at 3-4-3-9 so you're guaranteed a boost, and at 1066MHz at 5- 5-5-15, it provides a small rise over 800Mhz".

Ummm found this comment on the Overclockers website under review for the ram itself.

"I really recomend this ram even if your not overclocking due to its reliabliity out of the box".

Ummmmm, not happy with that comment.

Received the new memory (Corsair 6400 800Mhz) this morning and set the voltage to 1.9v and booted straight away without problems.

Now Im running Memtest just to check out the 4 strips.

Regarding the new cooler Im waiting for Tuniq Tower 120 do I have to remove the whole CPU stuff off the motherboard or will it fit over the top?

Regards.

Update.

Installed the new ram and Tuniq cooler, applied new Arctic Silver using their instructions (line) and reinstalled motherboard.

Re-setup the motherboard settings as before with memory set at 1.9v per instructions.

Idle using Freezer 7 Pro
51-51-48-48

455X8
@3.640Mhz
vcore: 1.496v

Memory
455Mhz at 1:1

Tuniq Idle
44-44-39-39
Rest as above

Tuniq has lowered temps by 8/9 Deg.

But, I ran Prime and temps at load was:
84-84-83-83

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Sure they should only go up by atlease 20 Deg (64-64-59-59) max.

Doing my head in now.

PS.

Case sides are top are off.

Woke this morning to idle temps as follows:

38 38 36 36 @3600Mhz with a vcore of 1.392v.

Getting there.

Quick stress test with Prime came back with:

74 74 73 73

Regards.

Morning,

Well I stuck my settings back to default just as a test and ran OCCT as a test, here are pics:

For one I've noticed fluctuations in the voltage so Im wondering if the power supply is up to it, hope so cos I'll lower the clock first before spending any more money.

The cooler by the way is a Tuniq 120.

I will now set the bios back to 3.6Mhz but I know I will get the BSOD after 7 or so minutes and the temps hitting 70c.

Owe well.
