I was reading a government petition in the US to move to DST and everyone was raging. It would mean in some areas it's still pitch black at 0830 (i.e. during school runs etc). Everyone was much more in favour of keeping standard time.

Age old thing of different things suiting different people I guess - I have no kids and no school run to consider. I just know I have long working days and in winter 0 daylight outside of working hours. At least I can get stuff done in summer and more-so with BST extra hour in the evening even if it does mean commuting in darker mornings.

It doesn't feel socially acceptable to use powertools on the driveway before work at 6am even if it is daylight for example. Wheras 6pm after work feels way less wrong if it's daylight still (arguably could still do this but massive pain if its dark)

Interesting the US voted in favor of making the daylight saving time permanent when scrapping it, that I'd be ok with :p

The superior time, signals the start of more outdoor activities for me, instant mood lift and I love it.

Twice a year people complain but no one cares once it happens, leave it alone :D

Rip sleeping patterns? It's 1hr ffs, have you ever tried going from working days, to working nights....

Nope, why would I? I work a regular 9-5 job. You also took this way too seriously

Is anyone here affected by SAD, but in reverse? I despise the Spring and Summer months. Hate the heat, light, insects. I also get a recurring nightmare that lasts from around March until June.

I'm a bit better in August as the nights are clearly drawing in by then.

Late September / early October is perfect for me, which is the time most SAD sufferers hate.

I hate hot weather, stupidly bright blinding sun etc..

also bees, flies, moths, ants all the annoying things are around....

lets go for a nice summers walk, how romantic breathing in these clouds of midgies that hover at face height under the trees , ahh yes glorious :p

what's that sticky sugary food? here comes a wasp

I'd rather live somewhere cold all year round.

I've already been on amazon and ordered one of those magnetic mosquito nets for the balcony door and some mosquito nets for the windows. something has gotta keep the flies, wasps and bees out or I will go insane

you sound like so much fun

When will we come to our senses and not only have BST installed permanently, but increase it by an hour.

The night loving vampyres can do one!
