It seems that we had to get behind the Olympics, but there isn't a reason to. I have no reason for people who wanted to get behind it (hell, I did myself). However, don't tell me that I must feel proud to be British because we hosted something that any other country with enough money and time could also do.
Bear in mind that my main issue was with the awful commentary which wasn't in the spirit of the Olympic charter in the slightest. Extremely one sided, and inane.

Book yourself in to a cheap hotel the other side of London - or just get the first train home in the morning at 6ish (I've done it before). It's not like a zero notice event - people have had time to plan how they'd get home (or not) taking in to account the timings and the prospect of it overrunning.

I, amongst many others, was a bit worried that something would happen to mar the games. Thankfully nothing has and we've put on an amazing Olympics!!! Roll on the Paralympics

There were a couple of hundred tickets available this morning (and they were still hundreds of pounds IIRC). There were a lot more than a few last minute people leaving. They're such a tiny percentage of the audience as to almost not be worth considering.

Was holding one of the medals a couple of days ago. They are surprisingly heavy.

Was one of the silver medals for the mens lightweight 4's - all 4 of them were at The Now Show live and I was at the recording. They were happy to hang around after the recording, chat, have photos taken and pass their medals around.
