Coca Cola

I can't even begin to imagine how furry your mouth feels!

I dont get that feeling with coke, maybe because I drink it so much... sometimes I have to hack out black chud from my throat, sort of flem like, but full of coke as it just sticks there... but other than that, its gods juice :D

Im addicted to it, well i used to be until i started to realise the taste gets stale after a bit. There is nothing like it though when it is killer cold, i mean putting the tin in the freezer and taking it out just before it goes to slush. And when you drink it the mouth sort of stings it is so cold. I do not care for alcohol at all just give me a smoke and a tin of freezing cold coke and im in heaven.

I would like them to remove a lot of the sugar but life is for living and i dont want to live past 70 and be a mess either. On the furry mouth buy a tongue scraper and job is sorted. Buy a straw too so you bypass the teeth and tongue!

Also if Coke was that bad, it would be

a) banned like drugs
b) taxed to the nuts like fags
c) sold to over 18s who look 25 and over

Its none of the above, because its fine.. its a drink, has a little bit of sugar in, but what dosent these days.

Just more scaremongering.

It appears to have rotted your brain though :p

There's caffeine in Coca Cola as well, so you get the double hit better value for money deal with coke :D

Significantly less (1/4 of a standard cup of coffee) in coke.:p

What's even better is Asda banning energy drinks with caffine in to under 16s but bot doing the same for coffee or tea which have more caffeine in than the limit they prescribed.

Most likely due to drinking this crap when I was younger or eating too many sweats my teeth have become overly sensitive to sweat stuff and I had to have some fillings. If I eat say fizzy cola bottles now even after just a few they'll go into a frenzy so I've cut all stuff that's saturated in sugar out, including drinks like Cola. Since then I've had no more problems with my teeth. Can't say I miss it but I'll treat myself occasionally as it's nice to drink something other than water and cranberry juice (it's like the only thing that's doesn't make my teeth go crazy) every now and then.

Hydrogenated fats are bad for you, are they banned? No.

What a silly attitude, you actually think these huge corporations give a crap about peoples health? there's only one thing they care about. Moneeeey.

That said, cherry coke with a slice of lemon is delish.

Drugs are supposedly bad for you - why are they banned then?

Cigarette companies probably have more money than most in the world... so why do we tax their products so highly? Surely if Coke was that bad, dumping say a 50p additional tax on it per litre would be a huge cash injection to the country?

Ive never said any company cares about my or anyones health, but if the government can slap stuff onto other products that they say are bad for us... why not coke, its not a necessity for life?

zzzzzzzzzzzzz what a moron.

People know Coca Cola isn't healthy. It says it on the can it's self, what more does the man want?

What would be more outrageous is if Coca Cola changed their product to contain less sugar. Then we'd be upset.

If the amount of sugar in soft drinks shocks people I hope they don't read how much sugar is in fruit...

Isn't the point in that being refined sugar as opposed to naturally occurring sugar? Sugar cane for example still contains vitamins and minerals, it's not until it hits the refinery process and those are extracted to extend the shelf life of the sugar product that we get what is essentially pure evil in a bag.

I have to agree with this point really. The product is what it is, it's labelled in an easy to understand way (although I disagree with their idea of a "serving"), if it's too much sugar for you, then don't drink it.

It's not like people are forced to drink it.

Sugar is sugar, glucose is glucose, fructose is fructose etc, it's just a chemical, "refined" food is a meaningless term with no actual definition.

Drinks cans are one of the few food items that actually have a "real" serving size, ie. one that is representative of how much people actually consume, unlike breakfast cereal for example with a ridiculous 30g serving size listed so that manufacturers can lie about how much sugar their product actually contains, that amount is literally a handful of cornflakes...

Used to get a litre bottle of panda pop or Rola cola in the school days :/ Have occasional Coke/Pepsi now. Know it's not good but when you're thirsty and hot especially summer - it is a nice refreshing feeling to have a nice ice cold one.

Vile stuff. One of the many reasons for childhood obesity in this country. The only thing its good for is cleaning toilets where its better than using bleach.

Refining removes vitamins and minerals from sugar to extend it's shelf life. Like I already said. It was covered in this;

Yeah that's what I was getting at. Although I was picturing the serving size described on bottles, instead of cans. I've don't actually know what serving size they describe on the cans, but a bottle I saw today had a serving described as 100 ml! I get that it's an easy way to make the numbers look nicer, but it just looks ridiculous!

Blame the parents, not the product... It's not like coke are holding the child down and force feeding them it!
