COD: Black Ops III

Dont know why you cant tell me what your rig is. I have high doubts you are getting such poor performance, especially if you are running such a nice rig like you claim, but wont detail.

And by 'next gen', I just mean a game developed around the higher baseline that the Xb1 and PS4 provide. This game is definitely a big leap beyond what games developed around X360 and PS3 looked like. You know what I'm saying, anyways. Dont know why you're going to into pointless semantics to avoid my point.

As for the rest(dont care about PC, joke old engine, no effort), it's just generic, lazy accusations I see all the time from people who dont understand this stuff that well.

Because you are being pedantic about it, I'm on my phone and can't be arsed but it's a 2600k @ 4.5GHz 8GB RAM and a HD 7970. I might get some more RAM see if that changes it as recommended is 6GB.

It's not generic at lazy accusations at all because I can run every previous COD fluently at max settings. Nothing to do with people "who don't understand" yes I do understand.

And yes I am getting poor performance do you want me to take screen shots with my RAM usage and FPS later to prove a point? I'm getting memory leaks as well as windows is reporting it's running out of memory, and I've had about 4 random crashes. The game is clearly a shoddy port but the numerous upon numerous of complaints over the internet.

I wont be back on til like 9PM or so. Would be nice to have some regulars to play with, though.

Awesome.. Added bud.

That's odd, i've got it the same settings as a guy posted a couple of pages back and a 7970, 8gb of RAM and it's fine for me, I had one FPS drop at the start but that was my PC playing up not the game.

The graphics don't look bad for a COD game I don't think. By far the best i've seen and it's not even fully maxed out. Sitting happy about 70fps.

Have you updated to the latest drivers? :)

Hope you get it sorted as it's not a bad game.

A 7970 is an ok card, but it's solidly midrange nowadays. Definitely not 3x the recommended specs.

What settings are you running specifically? You say you were running all Low settings and 60% resolution scaling, but you also told me your rig was 3x as good as recommended specs, so I'm guessing there's more exaggerating going on.

I'm not saying this game is an optimized wonder, far from it, but it doesn't seem so disasterous that people cant get it running ok(performance wise) at all. First thing I'd suggest is that you might need to run at Medium texture settings. I could definitely see that being a killer for you right there if you're trying to run High or Extra. Also turn off dynamic shadows. That is quite costly(I have it off as well).

Also, have you tried multiplayer? It seem to run far better than single player for some reason. It's the same with consoles, which makes me think they're using some stupidly costly effect(s) in single player that they're not in multiplayer.

Got a patch out already. No notes that I can see.

29.3MB

EDIT: Just booted the game up - no issues at all with dropped framerates during the initial online check(before the menu screen). Dont know if that's what the patch addressed, but that is one major issue for me down.

I played about 3 hours of multiplayer and I gotta say that it's much better than I anticipated. And I was a CoD hater (last CoD I bought was BO2 and I only played 11 hours).

Maps are good, movement, jumping etc is quite fun and not overused by the players so far. Specialist abilities are very interesting, although if you die while using them you lose them and you have to wait quite a lot for them to reload.

Unfortunately there is mouse lag but after some messing with the settings it's less noticeable but still there. There is also MASSIVE mouse acceleration which is awful but I guess I will have to get used to it. Coming from CS:GO these mouse issues bother me a lot though.

Performance wise it runs great, everything on high getting stable 85+fps, no drops, no stutter.

Overall it's great fun and I will be playing it quite a lot.

I might have to get this on PS4 instead.

Enjoying it a lot, but I'm ridiculously bad at it. Like, I'm dead the second I see someone. I have no chance to react. Are people really this ridiculous with twitch shooters or something on PC? Cuz I dont want to have to learn that crap.

I was a very regular 1:1 K/D ratio on consoles. Had my great matches, had my bad matches, but now if I even break 1:1 it's a miracle.

You'll get there, I was the same on my first few games on COD when moving over to pc. It comes over time. I blame CS:GO players that are like super good..
