COD Black Ops looks pretty good on PC

All I was expecting was MW2, but with dedicated servers, new maps and a few tweaks to the killstreaks and perks etc.

That's all they needed to do.

How they could balls it up to this extent defies belief.

Dame straight, that would have made the game better but the talent which made Modern Warfare 1 what it was are no longer with the company and Treyarch team will probably find it hard to emulated the effects of the original COD team. It will never go back to how it was unless they reformed or Medal of Honour took its place.

As for the lack of dedicated servers, I think that's a more of an Valve/Steamworks issue and that's what you have to go with if you develop a game to distribute with Steamworks only. But I could be wrong on that.

So, I'm up there with a lot of you PC gamers, yes again we have been shaft with a shoddy console port of what should have been better but quit moaning and get used to it. Call of Duty is now developed by Treyarch who don't care about the PC platform much. The first Call of Duty game they developed was Call of Duty 3 and looked what happened......it was an console exclusive. The only reason why World at War made it to the PC because they saw how well Modern Warfare 1 did on the PC.

I noticed on the console side this game is being phrased but for a lot of them 95% only knew about the Call of Duty brand because of Modern Warfare 1 popularity and never bothered to play the previous games. Same with people never knew about Final Fantasy until number 7, so when it comes to quality they wouldn't know any better if they think Black Ops is one of the best FPS out there.

Yeah you are wrong - Black Ops does have dedicated servers, but as is becoming clear, that is not the panacea that some think it is. Dedis doesn't automatically guarantee a smooth, lag free game.

Just a quick double-check of something I think I already know.

I want to get this on PC but if I do that I have to activate with Steam correct? So there will be no re-sale value?

OK, report back from home, postmans been, but nothing from Tesco :@:@:@

Maybe a blessing?

Same here, nothing from Tesco, might just send it back for a refund though or sell it on eBay. Played at a friends last night, regretting I bought it now. Bad Company 2 and MOH are much better games.

If it is a Steam issue, would that mean that everyone who purchased from D2D is having no problem with the game? Does anyone know if that's the case?

With this game, D2D just send out a cd-key which you put into steam.

It runs like a dog...has anyone managed to get it to run smooth? :o

I can't even be bothered trying to play when it just stutters about. :(

Ill admit my pc is not the greatest but runs MW2 like a dream compared to this.
