COD: Modern Warfare 3

I might stick with MW2 for multiplayer and see if players remain online or it everyone moves over to MW3.

I cannot justify £70 for what is basically a £20 expansion pack.

If I'm struggling to find online games to join then I suppose I'll have to pony up the cost.
Think i'll be doing the same for now. MW3 did seem fun when the beta was running though. Really liked the maps.
When's the multiplayer properly out? I'll wait to see if it's improved or got worse since the beta.

Yes - MS have only owned the franchise for 5 mins and they have already ruined it lol...
Oh no. I forgot Microsoft had bought it. I thought that was blocked by the Competition Authority.

I guess being a multi-billion dollar monopoly bypasses things like that. Right, I will save that 70 quid and catch up on great older (and cheaper) games instead.

I don't think the Microsoft sale had any impact on MWiii's campaign. But I agree with the conclusion, too many great older games to play for me to waste time on another CoD this year.

lol few months ago Sony was like: omg what we gonna do without call of duty, we'll be ruined!

Now Sony be like: haha suckas cant believe Microsoft wasted money on Call of grandpa who's past his prime, lmao Spider-Man 2 is our money printer!

Was ruined before MS got onboard, COD wont be yearly anymore once MS are done with reorg of the company.

Which is what it needs, it needs to be a big event release. Now they have Warzone, they can get away with just releasing yearly content for Warzone without a proper release, which is ultimately all they care about as that's what makes them money through battlepass/in game purchases. The campaign needs to be a big 2-3 year cycle to really do it justice

I'm the sucker who will just play it for multiplayer.

I enjoy sticking a movie on and running around aimlessly and the fact they're MW2 maps makes it more fun for me.

Dont get me wrong, i know im part of the problem and the franchise needs a huge shake up but i do get my monies worth. Wont buy skins though, have no interest in looking like something from Fortnite.

I've basically always done that. I've only ever completed the original MW and MW2. Everything else I play for 20-30 minutes to get accustomed to the movement then I'm right online.

That stopped with MW2. MW19 They managed to balance MP and WZ fairly well for the most part. MW2 though, they took the proverbial. Felt like I bought Warzone with a afterthought of multiplayer tacked on.

I LOVED running around Favela and Estate through the Beta. Nostalgic glands were pumping and I was all in. Though once it ended I remember how badly MW2 was handled. Never again. If they charged for WZ and MP was free I'd be more sympathetic though the way the last game was handled, you'd think it was that way .

Sony were just saying whatever to block the deal - but regardless this is the first year I have cancelled my pre order - with crap SP and rehashed MP not to mention the ridiculous storage reqs it’s just not worth the money any more.. I’ll wait for it to be game pass fodder..

Wasnt that the average for most of them over the last few games?
No they were 6-8 hours, this is 3-4 and apparently awful after the first mission and reuses previous maps. Modern Warfare 2 was actually really good, presumably because they took two years to make it and did it properly.

But this one was supposed to be DLC for MW2 but they released it as a full game instead. They basically took a two year development cycle and instead did a six month DLC and are selling it for full price. The memes will be strong with this one.

I've not completed a COD single player game since COD 1 on PC in ~2003!

Yeah CoD at £70 isn't really about the campaign is it, they always around 5 hours. It's all about the multiplayer. I mean I have about 600 hours in the recent one and if I get the same in the next one then it is ok.

Id hate to think what hours i've put into Warzone since 2020! I always play the game and buy the Battlepass with COD points that build up but thats it. I also buy Vanguard, MW2019, MW2 and will do the same with MW3.
Some friends but MW2019/MW2 but other dont and just play Warzone without buying anything at all.
