COD : WaW Beta

I mean, I have my key from game, I have a callofduty.com account, but they don't link, it doesn't make any sense. Oh well.

Edit: Seems like no one with a pre order has got the beta because of that, 100,000 people got the beta because they were already registered on Callofduty.com

Meaning the pre order beta keys are pointless atm

Apparently I've already transferred my CharlieOscarDelta account to callofduty.com

But I only have 99 points and I'm a private :/

You cannot let everyone on at once, it needs to be tested bit by bit. It makes sense to allow previous COD Vip's on first then allow more in stages.

I got the code from being a previous member of charlie oscar and will get a key later for my pre-order.

Anyway apart from the dogs I really like the online. Definately going to purchase for online, the only deal breaker is how good gears it and how much it fragments the online users.

Im liking it, Needs a different play style to COD4 though, but there certainly are no pinch points on the 3 beta maps like the COD4 maps, they are also very big. It's a lot harder to see people, often only muzzle flash gives them away. Feels more tactical

Dogs are a pain if you dont have a machine gun, and the games shot registering isn't as crisp as 4. However it is good, the new map styles certainly offer something new.

We have been playing teamdeath match too, which I don't really like that much. Search and destroy etc should be very good (if they implement it that is)

They still have the War mode like they had on COD3.

Water effects are ncie too, grenades make a nice big ripple when they go off in the water.

Yeah I like it. Seems more tactical so far as pairing up seems to work best, People seem to hide then when you go past they pop out so doubles works well. Lots of radar reading at the moment but im sure UAV and silencers will change that.

Lobbies are decent and i like the party blue arrows with name tags above them on the map. The 3 maps are great, plenty of paths, loads of stuff and debris to use as cover. The tanks on roundhouse dont seem to be that dominating and plenty of chance to nail them with a range of weapons.

Im sure HC will really make this better though, you seem to need a lot of rounds for a kill and a direct shot from the rocket laucher didnt kill on a few occasions. Reloads and weapon switchs seem to take too long though.

Its just a nice refreshment of Call of Duty. Nice to see how it changes as more stuff opens up and you start getting the kills. Pretty pleased with it and looking forward to the SP with the Japs.

Oh yeah there team commands aswell. Si was commander and we kept getting instructions to meet at locations and stuff with a blue star appearing on the map, I dont think he knew what he was doing with it at the time but it should be interesting to see how that feature plays out.

Will it be possible to pre-order this game, get the email, then cancel said order?

Also, which site is it? The four letter word ending with Y?

I dont know, I pre ordered and I didnt get a beta from it anyway. My beta was within Callofduty.com after i registered a few months ago.

Atleast ill have the M1a1 from day one, but that about it.

This game is ruined by the dogs.

I've played a few games this afternoon and had a team mate who was fairly handy. Once he got once wave of dogs in he was able to pick off enemy while they try to beat off the dogs, then another artillery wave and then another wave of dogs.

It will ruin a nice stealthy game of team DM as someone will rack up 7 kills then call in the dogs. They can then stay miles away while the dogs do the damage.

Fair enough if it released 5 or 6 dogs at thats it but they re-spawn for a time limit and there is no where to hide. You may as well put the controller down and not draw attention from other enemy so they can rack up kills while the dogs are on you.

At least with the Heli you could hide to some degree.

Now imagine playing a game of Hardcore S&D and someone calls in the dogs at the start of a map.

Helicopters were hugely overpowered in CoD4 though (when you're on a team of nobbers who won't shoot at it) so no change there.

Have you played the beta yet? This doesn't compare to the Heli. Seriously in a game of team DM people are racking up 30 or so kills with the dogs. They give away everyones position to. You just follow the dogs.

It was fun at first to follow the dogs and pick off poor saps trying to shoot a dog. Then you realise you have just gone 200 points in the lead in a deathmatch game and the guy who released the dogs can set some more off.

Its not like the heli because you can shoot that, shooting the dog just respawns another dog. If you shoot you draw in enemy who shoot you again, thus letting them build up a streak.

Totally pointless.

Only played for 10 mins or so & the dogs are a ballache. You can 'hide' on top of a wall though so they can't get you but of course the top of a wall isn;t often the most concealed position.

played the beta a bit now, i'm enjoying the run & gun, i've only used the thompson so far just wanted to get the barrel clip thing for 150 kills :D will move on now i've got that, lol

looking at the scoreboards there will be hardcore FFA, WAR, S&D and TD in the full game, which is good as i dont normally play regular
