I agree. COD4 is ridiculously easy (on the PC for me) to rack up kills. The recoil (or lack of it) however makes it very arcadey, but I find it rather fun![]()
I play CoD4 competitively and win money on the PC, so naturally i have to be good at it and my keyboard + mouse allows me to be far greater than anyone with a pad.

The weapons in CoD4 don't have recoil fella. It is SUCH an easy game, have you ever played CoD1?
You say that, but then you haven't played me.
I don't think the gap between PC/mouse+keyboard players and 360/pad players is a great as the PC games would like to think.

Which is the major issue, its a nice game, its fun... but is just designed so anyone can get a rack of kills out of nothing. Having skill makes a lot less of a difference when some juggernaught / marty / p90 totting small business owner comes running out from around a corner... in CS his skill would define the outcome and its not that skilled people don't excel in CoD4 its just why should they be getting killed as a gameplay design choice rather than an actual mistake they made?
Maybe so, but i played a glorified 360 cod4 gamer on his home turf.
We played both game modes and i managed to come out on top, but gawd i hated the inaccuracy that is brought in with pads.
I used to play FPS on PS2 for years so i have a little understanding of how they work.
He refused to play me on PC![]()
I think it's what you get used to. I've been playing CoD4 360 since its release. I consider myself a good player, like many of the people on these boards (certainly a few GREAT players on here too!) but it does become second nature using a pad just like a mouse/kb combination.I still can't get my head around people still comparing all modern/decent FPS online games to CS. It's not the pinnacle of FPS gaming

Its the pinnacle of competitive FPS gaming
Ok danny
I didn't play 360 long enough to realise but.. On PC we teach ourselves to reduce recoil by bringing the mouse inwards/towards our bodies. It's a tad harder to achieve similar effects with a controller.
The fact that for me COD: Waw seems more arcadey than 4 seems to be missed. I wish they would make it so the long range guns really were needed at long range. As daany says you can be sniping someones only for them to shoot you with a thompson (this can happen on 4, but certainly not on normal only hardcore.

What guns/perks do you use a lot/most?
I can never remember the names of the guns! I have a few setups that I like to use but switch around quite a lot depending on what gametype or map it is.The fact that for me COD: Waw seems more arcadey than 4 seems to be missed. Well we all manage fine on controller, i just aim slightly lower as i fire. Recoil doesnt seem to be much of an issue when you burst fire anyway
Honestly?! I don't know off the top of my head.I can never remember the names of the guns! I have a few setups that I like to use but switch around quite a lot depending on what gametype or map it is.
