Coffee machines, Tassimo or Nespresso?

I tend to buy from Nespresso boutiques or directly online for the most part. Haven't tried the Starbucks pods yet but I've never really had a thing for third party ones when I tried them. Lately I've fallen in love with the Nordic Almond Cake Variation pods - quite a lovely aroma from them.

Genuine Nespresso pods are too expensive imo
We tend to buy these only as a special treat. They do taste the best but I tend to buy cafepod or L'or capsules for daily use.amazon do cheap capsules in bulk too

have they/3rd party yet cracked the newer virtuoline capsules ? .. the newer spinning capsules, with their bar-codes seemed to be all about cutting out 3rd party suppliers

I've considered getting one of these machines, but I keep talking myself out of it. I would probably choose based on which one did the drinks I like best.

The Tassimo looks good. But I've also seen the Nescafe Dolce Gusto machine, which seems to have a good variety of drinks available for it. Anyone know if that machine competes with the other two?

Thought i'd chip in with a view here, having owned Tassimo (awful) Dolce Gusto (only good for the chocolate style drinks not coffee) Nespresso (The one with built in frother as above post shows - which was good til the frother broke). I also had a 'Vertuo' which was the newer style Nespresso, but found the coffee tasted 'burnt' or too acidic, not impressed with that one at all.

I have a bean-to-cup machine at the office (DeLonghi Dinamica Ecam350.75) and it is very good - hit and miss with beans as they all are I am sure.

However, for home due to the lockdown I got myself a reconditioned Lavazza Desea for around £80 and I have to admit, personally it's been better than all of the pod machines previously owned, and the milky coffees like Latte/Cappuccino it makes is better than some of the bean to cup offerings that I have had, it's just so convenient as you have a big glass mug that you fill with milk, and then press the button, it froths the milk and dispenses the coffee into the same mug, so makes it very easy and keeps the washing up to minimal!
For Americano I use a pod, then fill the rest of the mug with hot water and it makes a decent one.

Just adding another option for any of those on the lookout :)

I just received the essenza mini bundle which includes the Aeroccino as I was sweyed by the 100 pod summer offer and £25 nespresso credit.

I'm coming from a Dolce Gusto machine, I've always hated that the pods are non-recyclable, so it will be nice to have a less guilt ridden coffee.
