The girl doing the interview on Radio1 did say "your sure it's actually going to snow this time, you've been wrong in the past", they seem pretty sure we're going to get a huge dump of the white stuff!
It was -8'c low in Manchester last night. Due to be a -9'c low tonight. If you can find any sat images then there is a big swirl of cloud coming towards us, from russia... SNOW
If we get anymore excited about the snow we are going to whip ourselves into a mass frenzied delusion and we will start requesting international aid to help us through the national disaster that is half an inch of snow crippling the whole country.

I remember on my way to a job interview, December 1993. I was in a 16 seater aircraft which was trying to land at Teesside International Airport (as it was then). Problem was it was -15c and the runway was frozen. We had to circle til they finished spraying anti freeze.
Stupidly, all I was worried about at the time was being late. I've never really been out in such cold weather since.
