Am I the only one thats noticed that if you look at the Ultima Extreme Mobile -17" laptop that in the specs its listed as having a 320GB HD and 4GB of RAM, yet the default chosen spec is a 160GB HD and 2GB of RAM?

Fixed thank you!

For the 9800 GPUs, from most powerful to least powerful: GTX, GT, GTS. They have changed the convention for the mobile GPUs, not sure why.

I've only seen the GTS and GT offered in the 15.4" notebooks, I think putting in a GTX just generates too much heat for the notebook to dissipate. If you want the GTX I believe you must move up to a 17" notebook. The 9800M GT is supposed to be on par with the 8800M GTX performance wise, that may be your best bet.

I was hoping a few more details would be released about release time as I think quite a few people here are heading off to university and would like a laptop before then. I know it's not easy to give out exactly what people want to know, but is there any more news on this yet? I would also really like to know which ODM overclockers are using for the chassis.

Hi,

We are pushing hard to get the barebones as soon as possible.

Once we get hold of them we'll post up detailed pics, specs etc

Cheers,

;)

I think they're trying to be extra careful to avoid heat problems, understandable.

I've put my pre-order in now, I want it asap :) Hopefully if more configuration options become available I'll be able to amend my order and keep my place in the queue.

Your place in the queue will be secured!! ....and it's getting larger by the day...but don't worry we've done what OcUK always does...buy a decent amount of stock.

Cheers,

u should put more details in options for example i dont know is it ddr2 ram or ddr3 and is it pc6400 or pc5300 should add 3 gig option as there no point for 4 gig in 32 bit os . should show how many cashe does cpu has as it is confusing.

which ones are now better t8100 or p8400 or they the same ? should ad t9300

also im looking for a laptop but would it possible to order one :

t8100 , 2 gig if its ddr3 and one stick only (not 2x 1024) , 250gb 7200rpm hardrive , dvd rom (dont need a blue ray ), 8800 gts or gtx in it , with wxga+ 1400x900 , in a 15,4 one would it be possible ?

Hi,

Drop your requirements on to one of our webnotes https://www.overclockers.co.uk/webnote.php and address for Adam Whitworth's (Slackworth) attention and he'll see what he can do for you! ;)

Hi Guys,

Any chance of an update on the ETA?

I know I am impatient but this has been a painful few weeks without laptop having sold my xps to buy the ultima :)

Hi,

The barebones left the Far East late Friday - we're expecting them mid next week [Wed-Thurs] as soon as we get them we'll be posting up pics, weights, and more details....

Exactly what I want to know :)
Right on the price I want to be paying and the best spec around I think for that

That's a lower spec than we're going to be offering in the short term.

Once we get the first range off the ground we'll start looking in to this area. ;)

Keep us posted. :D

Quick question, if I ordered a laptop in the next few days, are all the parts in stock to start building orders? Or is the pre-order date of tomorrow now out-of-date?

All is in stock except the barbones which are due Wed/Thu this week - hopefully we'll start building on Friday - but the Back Order queue is growing rapidly so get your order in! ;)

Will you be offering the T9400 or P9500 processors in Ultima Extreme Mobile?

As mentioned before - we'll be reviewing the range once all stock is in and we get under way - I suspect we'll do this late Sep.

Give me your details

Hi all,

We're very conscious that a number of you have been waiting a while and thanks for your patience.

The laptop barebones HAVE got delayed and were due in yesterday. Delivery is imminent but when you've got Customs involved it can unfortunately slip a couple of days.

On receipt we want to build each and test thoroughly first before we move to dispatching them to our customers.

However, I know a number of you guys have been waiting a while so if you'd mail me your order details I ensure that our forum folk get priority ;)

My email address is [email protected].

Looking forward to giving more news asap.

Cheers,

Rupert

Couldn't wait so I bought a Dell 1535 for £380. Arrived today and its a lovely piece of kit I must say! For the price and specs and delivery time theyve done really well. Hopefully overclockers can rival these in the near future once they get things moving :)

Hmmm

Hmm better get my questions (think most are covered) in before you have your meeting, Slackworth and RTB.

Mind checking the thread before you have your meeting?

I am very interested to see if there will be a netbook/sub-notebook equivalent (like the MSI Wind or HP Mininote 2133). Say 9"-10"...

My wish-list for such a beast would be:

Touchscreen tablet (1024x600/WSVGA min)
VIA Nano/Intel Atom
2Gb RAM
Small SSD (16Gb) with large HDD (80Gb+)
Webcam
Gigabit Lan + Wifi N + BT
5Hr battery life
Win XP Pro

:yum: ;)

Ill try and think of more realistic questions before tomorrow :p

ps3ud0

wow! That's a list....

Hi all,

Good see the laptops are going down well. Demand has been fantastic - to the point that we've not had the time that we'd have liked to get the specs & benchmarks posted...but we will in time.

There's loads to come, more CPUs, res choices, graphics, extra batteries etc..

Keep an eye on Slackworths Q&A in another thread as well.

Cheers to those that have bought so far. Be assured OcUK are reading what you write and are taking action where we can/its commercially sensible.

RTB :)

Hi all,

There's a number of new laptops due for delivery. They have left the manufacturers and on their way to us...

Slackworth will update you shortly.

:)

Well they have indicated this week, if not I will get a laptop elsewhere, seem to be plenty of these models around!

Hi - welcome to the forum.

All new laptops are on route, we expect them to arrive immenently, as ever with Far East deliveries Customs can delay things. General feedback has been good and I think most would agree they are excellent value for money.

Hold onto your cash for just a few more days and we should be able to wet your appetite with larger range...

Cheers,

Rupert ;)
