Command & Conquer 3 Demo, Next Week!

Wierdest thing ever - downloaded it from one link, has the C&C extractor but then installs the Rock 24 HL2 mod!

Downloading from somewhere else now :D

Won't seem to run on mine :( Been looking forward to playing this badboy for ages now; after I've installed it i click the icon to run it and get the error:

'The proceduce entry point GetVolumePathNamesForVolumeNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll'

Any1 get the same problem/ have any ideas of how to fix it?

Cheers :)

I downloaded last night and managed to install just before I had to leave for work. I played for 2mins... before I had to leave! :p

I had fraps running, although it was smooth I noticed that the FPS was a constant 30fps, Frame limit? this the same one everyone elses? Everythings maxed out @ 1440x900. Rig in Sig.

ooh, and for the 2mins I felt like a school boy again playing the old C&C ;) :D

Mine ran at 30fps to, everything set to max at 1280x1024 with an x1950xt. It must be capped

Are the files in the same folder.. put the CNC extract/installer somewhere else and try again.

I thought thge whole thing was incredible.
Just what I wanted from it...

However the GDI do seem VERY powerful - but I did not see any of the really good NOD units yet...

this game is awesome, wish i hadnt wasted £15 on Supreme Comander now what a load of poop that was.

Dont think thats a fair against supp comm really, its a very different type of game. Only way i can compare the 2 games is c&c3 demo is like Lego and supreme commander is Lego Technics, both good fun but one just seems chunkier and nicer to look at where as the other (supp comm) has more to it. I do feel SC has more longevity than c&c3

Anyone have this hosted on there own private server? Im trying ALL the links in this thread, but best im getting is 15-25kbs :( Even multiplay has slowed to a crawl.
Please someone host it

If anyone uses news servers, it's posted on there, downloaded it in 15 mins.

I've tried the demo on both the pcs here, a 3700+ with 8800gts as well as a 3200 7800gt and both play full res with max details flawlessly...

Looks an xecellent game, roll on the full release....

Bang on there I think. Plus the feeling in SupCom of (a) having just built a spiderbot and seeing it move or (b) seeing an enemy's spiderbot about to be finished and knowing yours won't be finished in time :D I love it.
But at the same time I've always been a huge fan of the C&C series and each new release gets loads of playing time from me. I'll be owning a copy of both games and will be playing whichever game type suits my mood at the time, not because one is better than the other.

Great game.

Sounds effects are awesome too, when you have loads of soldiers shooting at your tanks and you can hear all the machine gun fire and bullets bouncing off the armour.

Sound track doesn't come close to the work done by Frank Klepacki though.

Able to get it run on full detail with full AA on:
AMD 64bit 3200 (single core)
6800 GT
1GB RAM

Runs just slightly sluggish but still playable, so not exactly a demanding game, although I suspect on the full game with massive battles going on between 8 players it will lag like hell.

Big thumbs up from me.
