Command & Conquer: The First Decade

^RA1 you neet to install and use IPX and then it works fine.

I have IPX but there's no network option in the RA1 menu!

There's skirmish, modem and internet (which doesn't work)

Why do people make such a fuss over IPX. What's the problem with installing it as well as TCP/IP.

none of these games are worth playing online now, my probs are being minimised because of im not interested in the internet play of the games.

Exactly... but this isn't the case with network play though. EA's primary objective should have been to include network play, not damn well remove it (like they did in C&C dawn - an insider claimed they didn't have enough time to finish it because of the "deadline" so they just removed it)

As I already posted once in this thread, the following link tells you how to play C&C 95 over LAN..
I can't test it as I dont have two machines here at the moment but it does let me onto the create a multiplayer game now so I assume its working.

What about Red Alert?

Cheers

add me to MSN and I'll talk you through it tomorrow. Need sleep now, nn.

YGM.

God I loathe EA. I really, really despise them. They're like a VIRUS. They move from company to company, buying them out, and in doing so replace the origional dedication and passion of the studios with a fiscal orientated ethos. It's those ******* business entrepreneurs. All they care about is deadlines and money - nothing else. They have no respect for the people who do all the hard work, the ones who actually make the game! EA are killing the PC gaming industry. I hope they all rot!

EA never said they were going to re-code it or anything, so why are you under the impression it's their fault? They released a box-set, not a re-worked game.

^You DL and install the patch as stated in the first line of the FAQ?

Edit: It's probably easier to run red alert multiplayer with the original disc and try the patches that way.

Yes, and it was pretty much a clone of the RA1 directory. I replaced all the files and then the game wouldn't work, saying it couldn't find a registery entry. So not only was that a failure, but I've got to waste time reinstalling RA1 now!

Just repair it, takes all of about 40 seconds. There is a reason I said add me to MSN because certain aspects of getting it to work online are not legal, but judging from your attitude I will not add you to MSN.

Good day.

Anyone having troubles with Zero Hour?
Generals is fine, but Zero Hour is all chuggy and, well, generally b0rked. This isn't in game though (haven't even got that far), even the EA splash screen and intro sequence are jumpy....
Ideas?

I think you've misinterpreted me... I wasn't speaking aggressively! :D

The fact is I appreciate your time trying to help me, and I'm just a little annoyed that EA have done such a poor job.

Just had a classic 1v1 lan game of C&C... was all good until the memory error crash half hour into it :(
