Community ! Can't believe there isn't a thread.

It pains me to say but season 2 really isn't up to the first. :( There was a reasonable story arc across and the characters were interesting...now it's just lots of weird set-piece storylines. Love interests, back story...they seem to have forgotten about it all.

I hope it picks up again.

Season 1 was so witty and clever ...i want more of that.

I think the problem is, the love interest is all well and good, but it is very hard to do a good comedy when you bring in relationships. It will probably happen eventually but the longer they can go without it, the funnier the show will be.

The only issue I had with Season 2 was the poor relationship carry-over from Season 1 (no spoilers). Season 2 is great : it's better written, the characters are far more solid than in S1 and it just feels better thought-out than before.

I think 'Arrested Development' is the best comedy show I've ever watched but 'Community' isn't far behind. Not far behind at all.

e : thinking of Arrested Development :

OH COME ON!

The ending to Arrested Development... Wasn't really an ending at all.

Makes me sad that Fox cancels Arrested Development and Firefly but continues Seth MacFarlane's crap. ¬_¬

Oh well, got Modern Family now. :D

Opinions are split on this. I preferred the first season too but many people prefer the second because they tended to focus on the jokes more, going further with them than they had in the first season.

The best bits of Season 3 were the very obvious barbs that the writers pointed towards Fox.

Anyway, Alison Bri ... I mean 'Community' :)

Totally disagree. What made season 1 so good was the razor sharp one liners, great characters (with a bit of back-story - what happened to all the interesting characters the main group were getting involved with?! Small nipples guy, hot professor woman etc ... and the possible interest between some of the main characters), the chemistry building between the characters and the fact that it had a story that was flowing through the episodes.

Season 2 so far has just been somewhat ridiculous set pieces/storylines that feel completely jarring compared to the AMAZING first season and, IMO, no where near the the quality. They should not have changed the format in the way they did.

I was laughing throughout the first season, some real classic/hilarious moments... only had a few chuckles from the second.

I enjoyed S2 just as much as S1 and I'm no newbie to this kind of show/comedy either.
