COMPANY OF HEROES 2

Blizzards just force fast tech to vehicle warfare.

huh you soon get used to building fires around the map and some are already there or go in buildings to stay warm

My biggest gripes are you can barely make out your units or what is what especially on the mini map and it just doesn't feel as detailed or deep as the first game you can piratically just go afk after spamming 12 mgs until you can get tanks

meh i'll be sticking to coh 1 wont be buying

Agree about making out units and the mini map etc.

Im enjoying the game, its just different to COH1. Panther spam is really irritating, they are way to strong compared to russian tanks. I've been playing this since the Alpha Stress Test. Its gotten better with each step (Alpha > Beta > Beta Stress Test). Looking forward to the campaign and theater of war.

I also had the pleasure of playing verses Imperial Dane on sunday, safe to safe I got beaten hard (for people that dont know, hes done 800+ casting videos for COH and is incredibly skilled at COH)

Dane is awesome, used to watch his videos all the time when I was playing, really helped to give me some hints & tips on COH1 that I would have spent a lot longer learning for myself.

Hello Hello & Welcome Welcome :D

edit - Just checked out his new video, featuring CoH2 Beta, and I must say, I am surprised how little it would seem the graphics have come on since the first. Which is not a bad thing as the first was awesome and looked great anyway, especially for a game of its age! Might have to get this now.

An elephant in the room seems to be this online ranked experience unlocks granting bonuses to various things which come in to play in an online game ?

Surely that means someone with 50 games has a massive advantage over someone with 5 games say ? seems to be a glaring error for online competitive play no ?

Most of them are like 3% accuracy or 3% build time or minor things like that. There are different commander options as well, although a lot of the time they are a personal preference thing.

With the way COH is (atleast the first one) it has a steep learning curve. The guy with 50 games vs the guy with 5 is already going to have a big advantage as its not just the run of the mill rts where you spam 20 of the same unit and base rush them.

I'm disappointed there isn't stats like the last game and a ranking system (aside from the 50 different levels for unlocks)

just played a few games and tbh not impressed. I prefer CoH1, it looks and plays better, not to mention all the mods (BK etc...) that have made CoH1 even better.

will pass for now. maybe will reconsider once some good mods start to appear

Nazi tanks were better than Allied / Soviet ones in general anyhow, it was there most awesome weapon.

Remember the fear in the first one, when you heard the chugging of the Tiger tank coming in once someone had unlocked it on the tech tree? Tiger?!?! RUUUUN!!!!!! Would change the whole aspect of a game, AT time!

Haven't had a chance to try it since open beta began following on from the closed one - have they dumbed down the mortars at all or are they still OP?

Nah, at least when playing as the Allied Infantry doctrine, RANGER SPAM! :D

Of course they are, but in this they still seem over-powered.

Just remember chaps, it is quoted that to have won the war, Germany would have had to have destroyed 10 Allied tanks for every one of their own lost, they achieved a ratio of 9 to 1. So very close.

Panthers and Tigers where the bane of the Allied tank forces. Read up on Ernst Barkmann and Barkmann Corner.
