It's showing up as 12021.9/1202.4 so yeah it's around 1200. I'm guessing this is a good sign and everything is working how it should do?

No problem :) DDR stands for double data rate. So you take that 1200 and double so it is in fact running at 2400. Other software will show it at 2400.
 
Plenty of time to learn stuff :) the key to it running smoothly is keeping drivers up to date, particularly graphics and motherboard. If everythings running fine then theres no rush but its something you need to become familiar with.
 
Morning guys, it's been a little while since I've had my pc up and running and playing a little bit of battlefield 4.

I have a question that has been playing on my mind to do with my CPU cooler. (Corsair H110i GT)

I have an exhaust setup but I have the fans underneath the radiator so my question is...

Is it better to have the fans on top of the radiator rather than them being mounted under the radiator?

In my third picture I uploaded previously you should be able to see what I mean if not there is also a link to a short video of the built and you'll see there that my fans are mounted underneath the radiator.

As long as the fans are blowing through the rad and out of the top of the case then it is fine.

I can't see which way you have them mounted in the pic, and the video doesn't exist anymore as it says you have deleted your youtube account.

So the fans on the underneath of the cooler should be facing the same way as your rear case fan i.e Exhaust. If you can see the sticker on the centre fan hub then they are the wrong way round.

The way they are in the listing is how you want them (Even though they have a sticker):

Hi Lee, They are as an exhaust but my thinking is I should have the fans on the other side of the radiator?

The fans are on the inside of the case exhausting through the radiator but should I have the radiator on the inside and then the fans mounted on to the top.

I'm currently not able to upload another picture as I am not at home but I will do later on if what I'm saying makes no sense :D
 
Definately self build.

You will get a compatible spec from this thread
The biggest risks for a novice builder are bending pins, cracking boards or scratching though trace circuits. With a little care this shouldn't be a problem. Some places offer insurance against such damage

Hi ArchAnGel I have already built the PC and got to say I am pleased I made the decision to do so. Next thing I want to attempt is to overclockers the 5820k to at least 4Ghz. Should don't dare at the minute and all information is proving difficult to understand. Probably over thinking...

You can put the fans on the other side if you want. The performance will be very similar either way, but you should get less dust build up.

Thanks for the advice, as my build is nearly a meter of the floor and on a wooden table I'll leave it for now and when I come to clean it at the 6 month mark I will change them over then as from what I can tell I'll need to take the fans off anyway to clean so no point in making more work for myself haha. Still getting 40c CPU temp when playing bf4 maxed out for 3 hours. So pretty good? (I think) :confused: :D
 
Hey Parkinson, just popped in and see you got it all up and running well done!

With a nice shiny system enjoy it and play lots of games, personally I would say if you have massive framerates and no problems, maybe no need to over clock yet?

Entirely up to you thou ! :)

Hey VKleita, thank you! It's doing well at the minute. The test for the CPU will be with Fallout 4 and AC: Syndicate but I'm hoping it won't be a problem for me.

Overclocking is in my mind but I just don't feel clued up enough yet to give it a good go and get it done properly so I'll be leaving it for a while.

If you play BF4 then give me an add on origin? = Parkinson1LG
