Timings should never matter, it's only the A64 (with its lack of prefetching) that made fast memory such a high priority requirement. Conroe has excellent prefetching.
 
with no chip the monitor doesnt switches on and the mobo doesnt do any beeps at all. The fans spin and the HDD's too but no beeps whatever.

i just unplugged the cpu and switched it on.


is the LED behind the memory slots ON ?
 
The LED by the main 24 pin power input is on... all the fans spin up and the HDD light comes on for a little bit... I dont think its the PSU as the pump is working and the fans are still spinning... I have also just heard from OcUK and if I RMA the motherboard I'm going to have to wait forever to get another one as they are not ordering BadAxe motherboards for at least another 4 days!!!! :( :( :( Do you think its the motherboard??

You are kidding me, just RMA'd my Bad Axe today :mad:

Stelly not being funny mate but have you checked that its not the CPU thats knackered or a BIOS issue as mentioned above... :(

Nothing matey I was the unlucky guy who got the only 302 that was accidently sent out. RMA'd today and am now waiting for a 304 but seems all Conroe boards are now 1-3 days :( Was hoping to have by Monday to finish my rig ready for my 6600.
 
Do you really think a Conroe Extreme could be knackered? I thought that I would have least have gotten something from the CPU?? and I have not got a way to check it tbh... I thought that it would have displayed an error if it was not the boards, right? and I have done the BIOS thing already... any more ideas the both of you? and whats happened with your motherboard mate??

Intel Celeron D 326 2.53GHz (LGA775) - Retail (CP-117-IN) should work in that motherboard what you guys think??

ask a friend to give you a cely or something. another solution discharge them rip them all apart , unplug everything and leave them for an hour or something. then put them back together

oh wait , have you tried to boot with only one stick of memory?
