anyway back to my problem, I've just tried booting @ 13x on the mutliplier @ 1.5v and even then it just locks up on windows :( , no extreme can be that bad @ clocking surely, perhaps it is a mobo fault,

actually you don't think it could be the psu, I'm running a tagan 480, spec in sig + 2 hardrives & 2 optical drives

Tagen could be the problem you know

U cannot assume that it is a mobo problem. I have read your posts and you have pretty much covered all the areas and critical bits. You always have to be lucky with a cpu. Some will simply not clock at all and you have got a good motherboard there also.

Reply to the post above: Tagan does make in fact pretty good PSU's. Just run dual prime and look at your voltage lines. It should not drop.

I'm running 11x343fsb @ 1.5 or 1.55

The only time that it locks up for me is with not enough vcore

I really think that it could be your PSU

Well I certainly proved that today with a basic oem 6300 that hit 3.360 on air with a £7 cooler without breaking a sweat on default volts with no tweaking. Makes you wonder :D

There just aint no way that a 6300 will do 3.6ghz on stock volts LMAO!

So you went from nearly 3GHz to 3.6GHz!? It's nice but not like wow...
He went from 1.8something GHz to well over 3 GHz! Bang for buck my friend

sorry this post just shows you do not know what you are talking about.

I have the 6600 that runs at 2.4ghz stock not 3 ghz.

Reading your post's I can come to the conclusion you are a Troll

Agreeing again... no really... I am

Sure sure I am a trol, u have a 2.4GHz and not a 3GHz. Still does not beat the E6300. Come on admit it, u want the 6300 hehe. From 1.8GHz to 3.5GHz - shove that up your furry little tootchy

EDIT: Ow and yeah, keep on spending big bucks for those cpu's

Who mentioned 3.6 Ghz, your getting confused my friend. Must be spending all that money on that expensive processor of yours.

I find it extemely funny that the Extreme Boys are reacting so much to a cheapo processor knocking the socks off the top of the range Intel. LMAO.

3.6 might not be possible on default volts but I bet its possible with some tweaking.

£114 + Vat. Here's smiling at you Easy :D

Funny that they called you a troll, so did I a few days ago here, seems you must be :p

Back to thread though.

The E6300's are great value chips and I can see intel seeing these clocks and wondering if people will buy any other in the range range. I reckon they will spoil the next batches somehow lol.

The 2mb cache chips will always clock higher than the 4mb counterparts though.

lmao, set it up under the watercooler, id love to see what a 6300 can pull under good water cooling. are you using the g.skill HZ btw?

I would also like to see this under water and also running prime for a good few hours, how long do you all think that this chip would last in the long run??
