Can you imagine how terrible it would have been if say the crew in the cabin were all incapacitated and the passengers etc couldnt get into the cabin! That is scary. Knowing that time is ticking and fuel running out! Nothing they could do!

Not Lego but they could contruct a plane that would look convincing to all of the world's media, and when anyone but the 'government inside team' wanted to inspect it it would be impossible to get to through all the red tape.

Why have the 'Government' built this non Lego plane and for what reason?
If you don't know can you make something up please.
To cover up the fact that the plane's in Pakistan or thereabouts being stowed for a future terrorist attack and all the passengers have been offed or sold. However, due to the fact that there's been no reveal today in Australia, either construction has been delayed or it's too risky to invent a cover-up in the light of possible leaks from other media re the Pakistani situation.

No such thing as lasers being used at airports. Aircraft can do a full autoland using ILS or MLS but still require pilot input for things like landing gear and flaps.

What a faff though, if they have already got a plane in their hands why not just crash it into a famous landmark in the area?
It seems a lot of trouble to use it at a later date.

It just leads me to understand why people could dream up sky pixies, angels and things like that. People will believe any old tripe, publish literature on said tripe and amass a following of other like minded believers. I'm happy for people to live in a fantasy world, they find comfort there.
Like I said, you're wrong, plain and simple. The plane didn't exist, so how could it be in Pakistan?
If the pilot or co pilot were suicidal or had gone renegade what benefit would there be to them flying into the ocean on such a round about trip, why not just nose dive there and then or fly straight at a landmark.
If on the other hand there was some disaster on board like a fire, structural problem, attempted hijack, convinced of a bomb on board why wouldn't they have raised the alarm? Even if their radio was out of action the plane flew for hours after so why not fly close enough to ground to use mobile comms? Even with no landing gear they would have had more chance landing on a runway. If there was an issue with the plane it wasn't so serious to prevent it flying for hours after the initial deviation from expected route.
I still think it was remotely hijacked, its reported to have climbed higher than the plane should and I think at this point those onboard were starved of oxygen. The plane was then remotely flown and may have landed w or sw of Australia on some island or they may have miscalculated fuel and crashed into the ocean.

So far today on the BBC they've just been saying, "update, nothing found", "breaking news, nothing found from search". For how long will the news channels keep reporting on nothing and when will they just bury the story?
They'll report whatever is found, they are searching at the moment and there are no developments. Don't go in to Lizardmen mode just yet.
