'Contact lost' with Malaysia Airlines plane

I hope that everytime they spot some debris that turns out to be false, they then pick it up. Otherwise they're going to all keep spotting the same false debris! (and it would help clean the oceans etc).

Yes, they should think of the dolphins. Imagine them getting their little beaks stuck in an andrex toilet roll tube :(

There is tons of floating debris in the sea some of it quite large. When I worked on Nimrods they used to fly around spotting and marking it all as training.

Imagine if that's plane debris, with scores of dead bodies. Awful for any recovery team, and awful for the families if those people were alive in the water at any point (so, if they're wearing life jackets, basically).

Isn't it normal to put a jacket on while in cabin though in the event of an impending crash?

There was a little news item last night about how what i think looked like a triple garage or some other large structure had washed up ashore in america from the Japanese tsunami.

Obviously if they have life jackets on they may have died on impact, or they could have made it out alive. But if they weren't wearing life jackets they probably didn't make it out alive.

The likelihood of anyone being found alive if it went down in the see must be zero by now. I do wish they can find it so the relatives may have some sort of closure.

It's going to be quite a bad PR story if it's found that the plane came down with passengers alive, they got out onto rafts etc, but then died after waiting 16 days in the sea for a rescue :(.

Anyone hear about the MA plane that had the power generator failure over the weekend? (Sorry if I missed the link and repeating)

Good times for them right now. Buy stocks, they have to be proper low now :p

MALAYSIA’S continuing refusal to share the cargo manifest for Flight MH370 with an Australian-led search and rescue operation will hamper the effort to find the missing aircraft, an aviation expert says.

I havnt seen a proper cargo manifest, but the BBC reports that:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-26714628 said:
Malaysian Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein confirmed the missing airliner had been carrying wooden pallets
I dont know if there is more info released, or if that is the full extent of what was said.

That sounds to me like the wreckage they found has been confirmed to be from the flight. if it is then at least it will be closure for the friends and families
