US: Continuum

Time travel wrapped in time travel, it makes Terminator theory look simple :D

Where is alec now? Is he in the future or the past. Could he go back and tell his dad to start it all. Is he in 3 times lines? So confusing.

Gone back back to save Emily, presumably.

I wasn't sure that there was a any accuracy in the jump, and if he did why wasn't he there the first time around? ;)

Because it hadn't happened yet, and we don't know if there are multiple time lines or not. This will be explained and covered in early season 3 I'd imagine.

cant wait for the next season :) will probably have to re-watch season 2 as it did start getting a bit weird.

Kind of like fringe as it went a long :)

Very interested in watching this can you guys summarize it, in terms of other Sci-fi shows, that its similar to ?

I see fringe mentioned a lot. I guess its kinda young and sexy, because everyone is 25ish ? :P

It's not heavy on the sci fi per episode, like S.H.I.E.L.D or BSG or anything, but the story flows well.

Summary : A hot woman super police officer accidentally transported 75 years in to the past, must help the teenage/early 20s version of her super clever boss from the future, whilst stopping a band of mercenaries/freedom fighters also from future, before they change the timelime.

I'd dunno about other peoples, but its got a Sliders, x Terminator SCC x Alphas x NCIS mix going on. It's basically a scifi cop show.

Oh and the main characters are not in the mid-20s.
The Female lead looks like she is in her 30s and is very "alpha". She is not your (don't speak, just look pretty) woman. Sexy is not the word I would use. In fact, her role is very masculine.

If you have ever seen Almost Human, there is a female cop who has been put in the show, for nothing more than eye-candy. She is useless/dumb. The female lead of Continuum is her complete opposite.

The other main character in this show, is in his late teens, while the rest of the characters are in their 30s/40s.

This is not a teenage show. I would say that it is targeting a more mature audience.

If you are after flashy/futuristic special fx, then Almost Human might be more up your street.

Just a reminder Season 3 starts tonight in Canada and available tomorrow. Will replace my true detective now that's finished. So have walking dead and continuum monday nights :D

It's basically a scifi cop show.

I would say its more than a sci-fi cop show because that would indicate that there is no story arc but solving crimes. They do solve some crimes but they often have a larger story arc to them, they are either done by liberate or they are necessary part of character building and relate to her experiences in the future some way or another.

If season 3 is half as good as season 2 then it should be good.

season 2 spoiler:

Yes i was blown away by the first episode of season 3. I don't even know where to start with discussing it.

I can't believe the entire time line collapsed and that there are multiple timelines, so difficult to get my head around all that. Was done very well though. This series is shaping up to be a good one, that episode pretty much wiped the first two seasons off the map completely. Now its a whole new situation.

Yeah I thought they was kinda it's downfall. Since a new timeline was created, surely a new one would be created every time the machine was used, so Kiera could never get to the same one as Alec.

Seemed silly to me to make it that complicated.

Good episode, though I retain my earlier scepticism that they haven't got a clue where any of this is going long term and it's going to collapse into an absolute X-files style cluster**** before long.
