Cooking with Jonny69: Baked bean feast

You just pour the beans in the frying pan without draining the sausage/bacon fat away? Cholesterol fest!
I pour the sausage fat away because it's just greasy tasting grease but keep the bacon fat in because it adds a lot of flavour. There isn't that much anyway :)

I created this yesterday, figured I may as well post it here rather than creating my own thread.

Take a couple of chickens with the breasts removed and boil in a large pot with a couple of bay leaves and half an onion for an hour or so until the flesh becomes tender.
Remove the meat from the pot and let to cool (Make sure to save the stock)
Once meat is cooled remove meat from the bones, chop into bitsized pieces and place into a pan.
Add the following:
A tin of chopped tomatoes
A handful of pickled, chopped jalapenos
Two teaspoons of paprika
One teaspoon of ground cumin
One teaspoon of chilli powder
One clove of garlic
Some BBQ sauce
Some of the chicken stock from before (not too much to turn it into a soup though!)

Cook until it's all bubbling and serve with some rice.
2 chickens with breasts removed should make enough for 4 servings.

Jonny, you are ALWAYS yapping on about food. should change your forum name to "Fatty Fatty Fat Fat"

Pics of finished product would be nice... I can't imagine it properly in my head... just sounds like it would look a mess

Sounds damn nice though :)

edit: just noticed you described it looking like a cowpat... pretty much what it looks like in my head :o

Then once you've had a go at this one you can progress to my sausage and bean casserole which is a more formal version of this with proper beans, better for dinner and great for the upcoming cold nights.

That looks absolutely mouth wateringly yummy scrummy tastical... must try :D

Got herring milts for breakfast here in a few mins ;)

I make a similar (but lazier) meal..

Required..

1x Heinz Baked Beans with Pork Sausages (the juice is far nicer in this than normal Heinz beans)
Grated extra mature chedder
Marmite
2x slices of thick white bread

Boil the beans on a medium heat for longer than you normally would, to get the juice nice and thick (also softens the beans)

Whilst this is happening, grate your cheese, and toast the bread

Once the toaster has popped, butter it, spread marmite reasonably thickly, add grated cheese, then put the beans & sausages on top

accompany with a nice cup of tea

It is sad to think you didn't have the capability to take and host pictures only 2 years ago.

Got a DVD player yet? :D

That looks pretty tasty. It is amazing how much differently we do these in the US.
