Well David Coote could be looking for a new job soon or at the very least won't be reffing Liverpool games in the future. I won't post the video due to the language but somebody has just released a video of him from a few years ago calling Klopp a 'German ****' after Klopp had a go at him during a game.

Tbf I'm not sure it proves any bias (however Liverpool twitter have now listed 101 dodgy decisions he's given against us) and even the fact he's called Klopp a **** I have little issue with (Klopp was a **** to officials after all) but the xenophobic remark at the end of the video is what's going to kill him. And possibly the fact that he looks completely off his head in the video too.

From a few years ago obviously, and he's had a few. I doubt anything will happen tbh, given we've had 4th offical who deliberately elbowed robbo at half time with no repercussions.

We’re really soft today as a society if this is causing a scene, yeah he screwed up saying “German ****” should’ve just left it at the end part and people would just not care, he’d still be in trouble with ever refereeing a game with us involved again but yeah…

Haven't watched the video, but from the newspaper articles it looks like he's referring to Klopp having a go at him in a specific incident in which Klopp was, arguably, a "****". And that Liverpool played "****" in a specific match. If the article (not linked due to language, but in the Guardian) is correct, I don't think it really goes to much. He's not calling Klopp a **** or Liverpool **** in general, he was just voicing his opinion of a specific instance.

Edit: Although it is remarkable just how many shockers he appears to have had against us, including the Pickford challenge on VVD.

You've described the first part of the video, he then makes some joke about social distancing (the video was taken during covid) and then goes back to say 'but yea, he's a German ****, **** me'. Saying that would result in a minimum of a 6 game ban for a player (the FA's rules are crystal clear regarding any insult referencing race, religion, nationality etc) - there's not a chance a referee gets let off saying that.

The Mirror are reporting that Coote is denying the video is real but if it is, he's getting a massive ban as a bare minimum.

It's a bit of a strange video, you do wonder about AI but I suspect it's probably real...
If it is fake then the quality of the fake and the detail of what he says is something else. The incident Coote is referring to is from an inconsequential match vs Burnley over 4 and a half years ago where (perfectly calmly) Klopp says to Coote at the end of the match 'you have to be honest' in reference to a mistake Coote made. For somebody to know and remember that and be talented enough to make that video is a bit of an ask.

At no point does he actually state that he lets his personal feelings regarding a manager influence his decisions
That's a weird test. Do you always have to get a full confession on video from someone convicted of wrongdoing, or do you simply review the evidence?

I'm not saying either way whether Coote has actually let it influence his decisions - as you can see above, I think that to some extent this is much ado about nothing. But clearly the test cannot be whether or not he has admitted to doing something wrong.
