Cooteastrophe

Mirror reporting Coote's accepted it's him.

How quick will Webb have him ref'ing a Liverpool game?

Nothing less than a firing squad, full of past and present Liverpool players and staff, will suffice.

At no point does he actually state that he lets his personal feelings regarding a manager influence his decisions
Given how 'subjective' a lot of decisions are in football, someone will a clear and stated bias will quite obviously not apply the same standard when refereeing 2 similar incidents..

I don't think Coote is bias, I think he's rubbish but not bias. They'd have been the wrong decisions but had Coote wanted to, he had the opportunity to give Villa 2 pens at the weekend but he didn't.

Parking the xenophobia to one side (which is what could and should cost him his job), the problem these comments cause is that it fuels the paranoia that already exists in so many supporters. I think it was when he was interviewed on the overlap that Webb made the point that nobody accepts officials making mistakes anymore. When they make a mistake it's because they're corrupt now. Anything that happens in football that supporters don't like, it's corruption. I'm sure @woppy101 started this phenomenon.

Let’s not bring the wopster into this baz    , but on that note the idiot in charge for the forest/Toon game yesterday was definitely corrupt :cry::cry:

Put him in charge of the Liverpool v Man City match, he will be so desperate to show that he isnt against Liverpool that he will give us every decision :)

Read this earlier on BBC where they made reference to him being a Notts county fan and I couldn’t see the relevance. I watched the video and expected it to be much worse than it was. I’d think most refs dislike all the managers, given how much grief they get from them and the constant criticism. Imagine going to work and the end of every shift you get everyone telling you how **** you were at your job?
Still, daft to let yourself be filmed like that.

I dunno who’d want to be a ref anyway, same type of person who wants to be a traffic warden I’d suspect. Mark Clatenburg was the year above me at school, always found it strange he wanted to be one as he seemed like a decent lad.

I've spoken to Clattenburg on numerous occasions as he used to drink in my local when he lived here before he went to Saudi. He was always very down to earth and you'd think he was just another regular if you didn't know who he was.

I didn't even read it or watch the clip but this is now perfect forum ammunition for any questionable decision

Incredible he's as thick as he looks, straight out of Wallace and Gromit
