does the 6600 overclock better than the 6700?

both seem to overclock very well, but dont know if it's worth the extra 200€ for the €6700. i am very happy with my €6600.

i have just been told that the chips are going to have a major price drop in the next couple of weeks to make way for the quads........

That should be fun:) :D

really? Gibbo said in the quad core thread that only the X6800 prices will be effected the initial quad core release.

very true, these prices will be approx 600$
but you can't sell a €6700 at the same price as a x6800, no sense in that....a drop on all the chips is more likely.

Nice overclock dude. Shame it dont count! :p

I think prime should be 8hrs min, although I dont settle for for anything less than 12hrs to be classed 'prime stable'.

I don’t think his intention was to count this as an overclock, it was more a reply to me on a different issue.....

But his stable clock is something to aspire to.. nº1 overclocked 6600 on here and other forums too:) nice work Divious

do you think the chip will take 1.6volts?
hightest so far for me is 1.525volts.. i think i would get the crappers if i went any higher..lol

Im sure it would be ok for a prime run though i doubt id run it 24/7.

who knows?

I think it will only be very small. If the Kentsfields are around £700 then I think the x6800 which they are stopping making will drop to about £500-£550 until it phases out. I cant see it affecting the lower range much.
