Corsair Carbide Air 540 Builds

Very nice Roosta, so have you put the formula's shroud over the EK blocks?? Did it require any modding?
I was going to leave the shroud off as the EK Water blocks are so beautifully engineered and thought it would be a shame to hide them. As it happens I did use the Formula shroud for two reasons. Firstly without the shroud the backplate cannot be used and secondly the shroud only hides the the mosfet EK block but is still just visible through the fins.
The shroud fits perfectly over the EK blocks and no modding necessary.

I used to love my 540 but the dust is getting beyond a joke, the way i have to mount the fans means i have no choice but to do away with the filters arrrrrgh .
I also had to overcome the problem of no dust filters on the fans as there is no room for filters the way I have the rads and fans configured. Solution : Stockings!! preferably black and as sheer as possible. Remove the punched honeycomb metal grill from both front and top covers. Cut a leg off the stockings and roll up and stretch over metal grill, cut off loose ends and re fit grills to the covers. You will be surprised how good this looks as it gives a nice matt look to the grills and is totally effective, I have no dust entering my case whatsoever and the grills just need hoovering occasionally to remove dust build up on the outside. Go for it.
All my fans (except the exhaust fan) are blowing air in to the case. 3 on the front and 2 on the top. This guarantees positive pressure in the case which in turn eliminates dust problems.

I just got this case and ive found out that my fan controller won't fit. Can anyone recommend an alternative? It will need to support 4 or more fans, be black and definitely fit without any issue. I don't want to spend more than £25 if possible.

What doesn't fit about it?

It has a part that sticks out further than the rest near the end, annoyingly.

Welcome aboard Matt!!! :D

Great minds have similar taste.

You have the same case? Nice. Its a nice case. :D

I decided on another impulse buy, like this case and ordered one of these from elsewhere. Think it will go nice with the look of the case. Hope it fits.

I've added 3x120MM Gentle Typhoons to the front. Feels like a cold gayle force inside the case. :D

Still a work in progress but I modded the AE5 in to the top panel as I needed a bay freeing up. Unit usually sits on the floor so its perfect for monitoring temps/flow/pump etc from where I'm sat.

Kids loved the fireworks from butchering the metal and missus kicked my butt for stinking the house out with the smell of burning plastic - lol

how do you mount the tueb res?
I spent a long time trying to figure out how I was going to custom build a bracket to mount the res to the front radiator. While I was offfering up the res to get the measurements it was immediately obvious that fitting to the top rad was easier and more elegant.

I had a Bitspower male to male rotary fitting left over, this threads into one of the three 1/4 inch threads in the black acrylic top of the Bitspower res and then onto the rad directly.
Hope that makes sense. See below for part.
