Corsair Carbide Air 540 Builds

Thats looks very nice string - if you use some angled connectors for the compressions you'll be able to cut down the tubing some more.

@@foster grant - lol, I did it the other way. Used my 540 air front dust filter on the bottom of my 750D :)

Thanks.

Yeah I need some rotary 90 bends, but they are out of stock everywhere and have been for months.

I used the dust filter that came with my 750D for the underneath of my 540...made no difference at all

But I think you can get a set of dust filters for the 540 for about £60 I think....aahh yes I found these http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CM-045-DF&groupid=701&catid=1428&subcat=2363

Not too fussed for a dust filter, was more after a cover like this chap has (I've sent him a trust message to find out if he made/bought it)

*Edit - I've popped a post on ColdZero forum to see if he can make the above lightbox but without the lighting element. Hopefully he do me a quick one!

ColdZero came up trumps, despatched same day via DHL (yesterday) and arrived today - excellent service!

Anyway, got exactly what I wanted, a perfectly sized and cut matt black cover to hide the ugly two drive bays at the bottom. I need to re-route my LED strip to sit on top of the cover but will do that at the weekend!

Apologies for the pathetic photo quality, using the gf's ancient phone!

Very pleased!

Plan for mine. I have 3 inside panels done, top cut out to allow 3 fans to be mounted. I still have to order a mountain of fittings and acrylic tubing as I know I wont get everything symmetrical first time round. Money is tight at the moment so trying to do everything to the case right now.

I don't know what color to go with so just uploaded the green version. Any suggestions ??

Is anyone running air cooling on this case? Positive, Negative airflow recommended? Thanks!

I'm AC on mine, and I gotta tell ya, You do not want negative airflow set up, you need your intakes running faster than your exhaust because otherwise you get dust ingress through those HDD trays at the bottom.
I opted to remove the rails altogether, and fit the HDDs in the back, then plate off the floor with some 1.6mm aluminium wrapped in matte black vinyl.

Works a treat for me.

Thanks mate. Dust wont be a problem for me as I have a full set of Demciflex
That won't matter with negative pressure I'm afraid. :( Any panel gap or hole (like the drive trays jeckulz mentioned) will have dust drawn through them.

I've run all my cases fully filtered and with positive pressure (including this 540) and had great results and no issues with dust. :)

EDIT: Great build by the way jeckulz!

Thank you sir :)

...Its not finished yet though.
The floor plate is merely phase 1 in my dastardly scheme.
