Corsair Carbide Air 540 Builds

What LEDs are they?

Just some cheap fodder I got off amazon.
LEDs are LEDs dude.

Guys what fan setup do you recommend for this case?
Nothing special, just make sure you have more filtered intakes than you have exhausts.
If you have equal numbers of intake/exhaust or less intake than exhaust, just dial the exhaust fans down a bit using speedfan or a propitiatory software that your mobo manufacturer provided (asus ROG boards et al).
You just want FILTERED positive pressure.

anyone know is a asus x99 ws would fit? asus jay said most cases with E-ATX support would work but would be nice to know for sure
The sizes are:
ATX board is 12 × 9.6 in (305 × 244 mm)
CEB Form Factor 12 inch x 10.5 inch ( 30.5 cm x 26.7 cm )

The case wires for the power LED’s and reset would be very close to the bottom front drive cage but it might be ok.

Hi guys, i'm just about to go ahead and make my purchase for a brand spanking new build and I just had a quick question. I was originally going to get the Air 540 but I 'm a bit worried as to whether two Zotac GeForce GTX 970 4GB AMP! Extreme Edition Video Cards will fit - I was originally going to grab two Gigabyte 970 G1's but they seem to be out of stock everywhere I look.

Thnx

Hi Guys, I was wondering if there are any good guide on how to set the fans up in this case properly to try and eliminate some of the noise I am getting, and the dust build up inside the case.

I see a lot of people saying use positive pressure etc. but to be honest I am completely new to all of this so I am not sure what that means. I have a h100 in my case on the top with stock fans, and all stock fans inside the case as well.

I don't need any high performance parts I do not currently overclock, or even push my rig at all where I need to worry about temperatures. I just want it to be quiet, and as dust free as I am make it, as I currently need to clean the thing about every week or so, as I get a massive dust build up at the front of the case.

I am looking for a nice beginners guide - one the will be made for a simpleton like me that says buy x fans, put them in the front and buy x fans, use them with the cooler etc.

Positive pressure means having more air being drawn into the case through dust filters, than fans pushing air out.
Essentially it means that all the clean filtered air is pushed out of the gaps (gaps in the case, gaps between the drive bays).

This results in a far cleaner PC due to not nearly as much dust being able to get in and clog everything up.

OK thanks for that. So if I set up the fans like this;

1x140mm AF – Back – exhaust.
3x 120mm SP – Front – Intake.

2x120mm SP - H100/Top – Intake.

Would that work ok?

Ideally your top fans should be exhausts, considering that that's where the heat in the case is naturally going to be heading. Intake should be front and bottom, exhaust should be top and back.

I'm AC on mine, and I gotta tell ya, You do not want negative airflow set up, you need your intakes running faster than your exhaust because otherwise you get dust ingress through those HDD trays at the bottom.
I opted to remove the rails altogether, and fit the HDDs in the back, then plate off the floor with some 1.6mm aluminium wrapped in matte black vinyl.

Works a treat for me.

Out of interest, how come you mounted your fans on the front of the case, then put the filter on the inside?

Purely aesthetics.
Haven't noticed any appreciable difference on my CPU, GPU or case temps, even under load.
Noise level is exactly the same - in as far as I can't tell the difference just sat here.

Plus the inside looks cleaner and the blue rings are just slightly more visible at the front through the mesh. I'm undecided about whether to go with LED fans up front?? Maybe in blue??
I just think it needs a little more colour up front.

Wish I had the ability to do something like this..
