Corsair Carbide Air 540 Builds

Does anyone know if a top mounted 140mm fan can be mounted dead centre or does it need to be toward the rear or front to cater for two fans please?

I'm hoping I can just mount one in the middle

anyway.... back to the 540 airs ..... can we now add 240 airs to this ? as when I finish my build I would like to add a pic up of it! anyway anyone want to help me with a name for it ? its monochrome and orange :)
 
Just got a few things to order still (graphic card, ssds, wc fittings and hardline tubing, mod the case a bit and clean it all up and maybe add some decal to the outside, i will also be starting a project log so it will be over on the forums too :D

Here's my recently finished 540 build.

It was a really tight squeeze getting everything in. The motherboard fits with about a millimeter to spare. I had to play with the radiator's orientations to get them both in with the inlet/outlets accessible.

I also had to cut a hole in the back of the case to feed the tubing to the single 120mm radiator on the back, as well as a second hole that goes in to the rear compartment where I've mounted a tube res on back.

Greybeard Anychance Corsair are thinking of selling an all White/Silver 540, I love to get the white version but the black part over the fans are off putting for me and is stopping me from going ahead with the purchase.
 
Hi , some great setups I'm about to hit the buy button ,couple of questions if possible
For the people who are not running a fan controller I will be running 3 fans at the front 1 at the back and 2 up top for the h105 what fan splitter cables should I go with ? Also does anyone know somewhere were I can get some decent braided cables I'm going to be running 2x 290x so will need 4 pcie and the usual mobo cables

What kind of fans?

And all my braided cable extensions were sourced from OCUK. Which ones you go for will really depend on your colour scheme.
 
I have 4 AF120 . 3 for front 1 for back and I'm going to order 2 SF120 for the h105 . I've sorted extensions just need to figure out the best way to run fans ive got a gigabyte z97 gaming 5 if that makes any difference
 
Personally I think the best way is a fan controller, I've had a Bitfenix Recon on the standard fans just running auto which is great but then I discovered Phobetria which gives you complete control over the Recon and I've ordered some more fans so I can use all 5 channels and make sure I'm getting the best I can from the case as I'm about to tinker with overclocking
 
Can anyone recommend a fan controller , I'm not a fan (no pun intended) of the look of fan controllers they can ruin the look of a case but if it's something that will help with performance I will do it

Dude, speedfan is free!
Bit of a nag to set up, but once you're there, its better than any <£80 controller.
Its automatic - thats all you need!
 
I don't have enough fan pins on my mobo hence why I asked I've seen some 5 way splitter cables but I've read that some people have issues running the fans at different speeds
