Corsair Carbide Air 540 Builds

I think they can be reversed the same as the ones on the 330R and the 450D. I have loads spare here at work. I would have thought that the area where all the cables are supposed to be generally will be pretty messy so the last thing you want really is to see all that.

Dumb question time:

I'm just about ready to do my build, with the following fans:

3 x SP120 front (intake)
1 x AF140 rear (exhaust)
2 x SP120 top (exhaust).

With the top fans, these will be on a H105 cooler. I've never used a liquid cooler before, but I'm assuming that the orientation is fans below the rad, exhausting into the rad...is that correct?

hey Smurfin. it doesn't actually matter in terms of being above the rad (case/fans/rad) or if the fans are below the rad (case/rad/fan) also long as you have the front in-taking like you said and the top / Back exhausting.

it all comes down to what you think looks better, seeing the fans more or seeing the rad grill, you wont gain or lose any temp performance either way.

Also just ordered my Air 240 for my ITX custom Water cooled build - although my mum is insisting to make it a Christmas present :( so I got to wait to new year to start it now! but I will do a new log and delete my 380t log!!!! so keep your eyes peeled for new year :) (also waiting for the 8gb 980 if it comes out soon, for 1440p 144hz gaming on a single card!! )

From my own testing it was only 2c +/- not worth worrying about, Fan type / rpm speed are the sort of things that will make a difference.

May I suggest Smurfin having the back as a intake and get a filter on the back you should see a hell of a lot less dust bunnies in your case with more air going into your case than out.

hi guys i got this case over the weekend and love it. I need a fan splitter cable for front two stock fans which connect to sys fan header. Can someone tell me which one would be needed? 3pin y cable or a 4pin pwm splitter? mobo is a gigabyte 797x-ud3h bk

Not a very good picture but here you go :)

What have you guys replaced the stock fans with in the case, compared to the graphics card, H105 and power supply they are really loud!

look at the pin on the fans, if 3 pin then you can get either 3 or 4 pin. if 4 pin fans then go 4 pin y splitter it all depends on the pin head on your fans and mother board. easier bet is 4 pin pwm splitter as it works as a 3 pin as well

WHat kind of fan controller you'd recommend? Was thinking of Lamptron CW611 or Touch 2100 / Strike-X. Not sure though, if those controllers will fit the 5'25 bay.
