Corsair H50 Water Cooling Kit

Anyone else with an H50 that causes really annoying buzzing noises? I only notice it after about 2 hours of use. It isn't noisy when I switch pc on. After a while a terrible noise starts. I really couldn't live with the racket. Anyone else have this on their h50?

Cant hear any buzzing on mine unless my ear is within 2 cms of the unit. Recently put some apaches and Fractal design fans in to replace the noisy standard fans. Next, the 5850 will get some noise treatment!

Ive got 2 Noctua P12s on mine. They hardly make any noise. Can't hear a buzzing

After installing the H50 in a new p.c. I heard buzzing noises that seem to start as soon as the p.c. was up to its normal working temperature but this turned out to be the front of the case vibrating and not the H50

Hi
My H50 developed a buzzing noise about two weeks after I purchased it
Very enoying because I loved it for its quietness.
I contacted Corsair and they replaced it in under 2 weeks .
Very impressed.
Havn't put it in because I am keeping it for my new build .

i was reading about how the delta fans are very good on static pressure and so thought id try or a couple of PWM deltas since they will never be at full rpm noisy unless all cores are loaded fully so should push an incredible amount of air through.........

anybody tried pwm deltas on the h50 an if so which ones and any thoughts?

******NOTE: will be using akasa pwm multiple fan connetor so fans will be powered via PSU and CONTROLLED via fan header******

the 2 i was looking at were

Delta AFB1212SHE-PWM 120x38mm Super High Speed 4-Pin PWM Fan

The Delta AFB1212SHE-PWM is their highest output 120x38mm AFB series part, with an impressive 150+ CFM. This version has the 4-pin PWM connection for speed control via motherboard PWM connection. It utilizes the traditional AFB blade design, features a tach output and like every Delta uses ball bearings for long life.

Specifications:

* 120x120x38 mm1
* 151.85 CFM @ 3700 RPM
* 53.0 dBA
* 12.60 watts
* 1.05 amps
* Maximum Air Pressure 14.50 mm H²O
* 12v DC
* PWM 4 pin connector
-----------------------------------------------

Delta AFC1212D-PWM 120x25mm Extreme Speed 4-Pin PWM Fan

The Delta AFC1212D-PWM is an extreme, high output 120x25mm AFC series part, with an impressive 113+ CFM. This version has the 4-pin PWM connection for speed control via motherboard PWM connection. It utilizes the traditional AFC 7-blade design, features a tach output, and uses ball bearings for long life.

Specifications:

* 120x120x25mm
* 113.11 CFM
* 3400 RPM
* 46.5 dBA
* 0.53 amps
* Maximum Air Pressure 10.92 mm H²O
* 12v DC
* PWM 4 pin connector.

i mean i use headphones for gaming and my 3 285 make a lot of noise when their fans all kick in so i dont think the deltas are going to be that noisy undervolted on the PWM fan header after all i have heard one at 2000rpm and thats no louder than ther gentle typhoon 1850rpm. its only when at 3/4 to full that they get louder which shouldnt happen on PWM.

any thoughts on which one to go for? is there an overkill static pressure level for these h50's? :D

I might have to do that although it didn't happen yesterday at all. The corsair fan itself is pretty noisy. May have to get some new ones.

Finally done my mod:

Why is it green? Rob reiner's precious goo?

What CPU are you cooling and what temps?

How much did it cost? Is it just 3 pipes and that block thing?

Off the topic you are talking about guys:

I am just curious, if i should put 2 fans on my H50 Radiator? is there any benefits of doing this ? and if yes how should i set up the fans ? 1 blowing cold air from outside into the radiator and 1 blowing out of the radiator on the other side or ?

That is the general idea, to have fans as intake. However I dont have another exhaust. I have the following...

< Noctua fan. Radiator. < Noctua fan

If i turn them around my graphics card gets hot and the fan turns up to compensate. The hot air from the radiator straight onto my GPU is a stupid idea really.

yes, but if you have your fans like this < Radiator < basicaly the inside fan will be blowing the hot air from inside the system onto the radiator and the other fan will be taking this hot air from the radiator outside the case.. but there wont be any Cold air blowing from outside into the radiotr or i miss understood you

I kind of wanted to ask a similar question. I have a H50 which is going into a Silverstone LC19B case. I will have one fan inside, then the rad on the side of the case and then another fan on the rad.

If the airflow is:-

Case > Rad >

Isn't it blowing the hot air out of the case through the rad and in turn heat the rad up?

If it was

Case < Rad <

Then the fans are blowing cold air through the rad into the case. There will then be more fans inside the case to remove the hot air (2 X 80 at the front blowing in and 2 X 80 at the back blowing out - might add another on the lid as a top mount exhaust fan)

< > Direction of airflow.

I would like to ask about using the lowest fan speed on the h50 with the corsair fan as intake, the lian li case has a top fan as the exhaust.

My aim here is the quietest i can get, if i need to replace the fans what should i replace them with? i only have a 5450 ati card and i5 750 cpu so i reckon i should get away with low speed settings. is it true the best fan to use is the gentle typhoon 1150rpm fan?

I tried it as intake and it was much warmer. My psu does have a small heat exhaust fan under it (hyper typeR 580w) My case it a bit cramped being an Antec Sonata 2

As exhaust its still taking inside case air over the H50 radiator i suppose, but it is blown through by a 120mm fan on the hard drive rack (pointing to exhaust) The other way it would intake hot air then built up in my case and go nowhere fast

This was it before. Ill get a couple of pics of it how it is now later tonight

Anyone got one of these in an Antec 300 case?

I'm assuming there is plenty of room for it with good air flow too?

EDIT: Nevermind there's a few in the case forums, so I'm good to go
