Corsair H50 Water Cooling Kit

Installed the H50 yesterday. Only had 2 problems. My case fan screw holes are to big for the screws so nothing was secure until the fan was screwed to radiator. And the hoses are SO stiff.

re:

Would it not be sensible for Corsair to maybe put 8 screws in the box ? Would have saved me a few hours and a few quid in petrol trying different shops locally.

Totally agree I took hours finding some over a period of days. I guess many people done the same:(

To put just 4 more screws in the box is not going to cost an arm and a leg and save people the grief.
Cheers

The screws are a common size carried by hobby stores.

ohh yeah, cant go wrong with Great Planes... their model planes are pretty beginner friendly , i hear

i've just swapped out the stock thermal paste for some slight excess of artic silver
the main problem is that you are inevitably going to smudge the paste around when you lower the waterblock into the retention ring, and the waterblock was so rough that it could shred the tissue i used to clean it
so i thought, i was going to rub the artic silver in... put a blodge of it in the middle of the cpu and rubbed the heatsink around until i cant hear anymore metal-to-metal grinding
right now it seems to be getting the same temps as the stock paste, but artic silver is supposed to 'cure' once you've applied it so im hoping that the temps go down somewhat

I want to use a push pull set up on my H50, is it best to use 2 fans of the same make? If so what ones should I get? I currently just have the corsair one fitted, and they don't sell corsair fans here.

I have an i7 920 - Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R - 3x 2gb obsidian OCZ in a Fractal Design Define R2 Midi Tower Case.

Keep with the fractal theme and get some fractals?

I think the push fan is the most important. I used a less powerful fan for the pull part for a while and hasn't made any difference since upgrading it.

Ok thanks for your help. I'll get a 120mm fractal to go with the corsair one thats already fitted. And see how that goes.

Is it essential in a push/pull config on the H50 that the fans are the same? ive got mine pulling in from the outside of the case but thats only leaving me with 1 exhaust fan on the top of my case. could i have a push/pull exhausting through the rad using 2 fans that arnt identicle?

do you have air pulling in from the outside of the case or air pushing out from the inside. Corsiar said to have it pulling in from outside but i would prefer to have it exhausting but wont do it if its going to have a negative effect on my temps.

Ive personally always had them blowing hot air out of the case, never tried the way they suggest tbh id say try both and see what works best for you its only a few mins to change the fan

I am hoping to get one of these when i get my new CPU (E8400)

mate has been running it at 4ghz on a WC full loop. will the H50 be ok to do this or would it be too much for it?

was going to take one of my rear fans on my Aurora 3D to use with the included fan to do the push pull tactic as i have the space..

Cheers

Ben

Just setup my push/pull exhausting through the rad with a kool blue led fan with a red temp reading of the case flashing up every few seconds, looks awesome! running IBT now so far so good temps only hitting 52C on load on an OC from 2.8 to 3.2
