I've asked this before and you ignored me, I'm not sure if it was intentional or not. Do you mind me asking what disabilities your children have (maybe you did mind and that's why you didn't answer!)? I only ask because I have a family member who deals with HA housing, it's already stretched beyond breaking point, and there are varying levels of disability that require very specific housing requirements. It could be the case that they just don't have anything available, or the level of disability doesn't make it top priority. They won't be purposely denying you housing for valid requests. Using an accidentally sent email as leverage to get what you want and potentially deny someone else housing who may require it more seems a little selfish.
Dominic Raab. I wrote to him about an issue and the response was slow, and didn't answer my question when it did arrive.Who's yours?
Ours is Fleur Anderson, seems to enjoy the social side of things but doesn't actually achieve much.

If Jaqui dies, maybe you can have her house ?
No, best of luck OP, that email response is out of order, and you know it. No, it won't get you a house if you're not entitled to it, but it might be enough to push you up the list if you are entitled to it and they're just stalling.
The email is unprofessional IMO.. And definitely worth an apology, but not sure it carries any real weight, I guess if you complain enough it might help.this has been going on for about 12 months now we have 2 disabled children and been sending all evidence of the childrens DLA trying to get a council house.
back and too uploading evidence to support why we need a 3 bedroom house as our children cannot share a room and has been documented by specialists to support this.
they sent an email earlier declining us any housing and going over the same old excuses please show us evidence too which i appealed to the housing officer as per the email to challenge the decision.
now i just got an email which was obviously sent in error to me from the secratary that should have gone to the housing manager.
i find it very unprofessional it seems us and our disbaled children are a bit of a laughing stock to them
email i received.
Hi Jacqui,
See email…now take a deep breath LOL x
Christine
thoughts ?
edit: just got a call from christine saying sent in error jacqui is in hospital and making some sort of excuses for the email sent she know she has done wrong.
If you have a disabled child:
You're allowed an extra bedroom if your child is disabled and can't share a bedroom with another child because of their disability. You're also allowed an extra bedroom if your child is disabled and needs regular overnight care from a carer who doesn't live with you. You must meet the following conditions:
- your disabled child must be entitled to the middle or higher rate care component of Disability Living Allowance
- your local council must accept that your child’s disability means they can’t share a bedroom with another child
DLA is a bit too vague it covers all manner of disabilities. You may not feel comfortable talking about it, but remember, a lot of us have disabled children or disabled family members, it's more common than most people realise.they are DLA i understand they are stretched of cause i do just wanted a fair crack at it and we have sent specialist reports everything the HA has asked for.
If the OP is on a list he'll be on it in order of need. If the council bumped him to a higher position because of the e-mail they'd be in breach of their duty. Those leapfrogged by the OP would have a far better cause of action against the council than the OP does for the e-mail.If Jaqui dies, maybe you can have her house ?

100% thank you yes i could have put it all better in context. If people want help/advice, then I'd say it's good to share more information.

On the whole subject, have you tried CAB?

Assuming your Children are claiming Middle or Higher Rate DLA then it does seem it's still up to the council to accept your specialists reasoning, this may well be the sticking point, remember that 'specialists' will recommend all sorts to anyone, that does not mean their is an automatic right.
Or if you aren't claiming the middle/higher rate then perhaps as sad as it may seem, you simply don't qualify.
I know councils/social housing struggles under the normal reasons for more bedrooms:
So that also factors in..

Advice: Pick up the phone, have a conversation and ask to be put through to someone who you can talk to.
teenwolf: Goes to MP and send more emails
Hey shifty_uk, are you Gambit from Medal of Honor Spearhead?Councils really dont like MPs getting involved. I know a couple of people that work in management roles for councils and they both expressed this when I had to get an MP involved in an issue I had a few years ago. From the moment I got in touch with the MPs office, it was all hands on deck, a councillor even came to my door to apologise.
Anyway, there’s nothing lost in pursuing.. It could be a wider issue of negligence in a department for all we know.
Im unfamiliar with housing and disability issues so I sympathise with any of you who have to deal with the system.
get a ferry to calais, then come back in an inflatable and they will build you a housethey are both on middle DLA.
just wanted a fair crack at the whip which obviously we wont be getting from them.
Maybe he doesn't want to go into that level of detail in a public forum.teenwolf, Worthy has asked you twice and you've avoided saying twice, What is it specifically that your children are on DLA for?
6 pages and no one knows what's wrong with the children and he won't say? sniff sniff.
he's been open enough to tell us. what could be so bad he can't? I don't think he's sat there with two elephant kids at worst so what are they on DLA for? something mental? or Physical?
How can we advise without knowing he's actually at it with the council?
