Countdown to competition...

Thought about going for a max on snatch, but my elbow is playing up from pulling. :( Got 60kg and decided it was hurting enough... :o

POWER CLEAN (1s) 60-80-90-100 This is why I love and loathe cleans: so heavy and so much back activation. .. and so tiring!
CLEAN -> HANG CLEAN 80-90-100-110 Ho-yeah. :cool:
CLEAN PULLS (5-4-3-3) 130-140-150-150 Last set was a bit optimistic but was still amusing.
GOOD MORNINGS (5s) 60-60-60-60
SAVICKAS PRESS (8s) 40-40-40
LAT RAISE ss/w OH BARBELL EXT. 10/25-10/25-10/25 Das pump.

Not bad. Very sore right now, however. :D

Scrolled pass the videos and had to double take, thought you managed to uploaded some seedy video by accident with the colours and poor video quality (on the freeze frames).

Leg day, which involved a few miles of cycling! :o

JERK (2s) BAR-40-60-80-90
JERK SINGLES 100-110 No jaw this time. 120kg would have gone up, but was taking it easy.
BACK SQUAT (6s) 120-120-110-120
SLDL (5s) 70-110-110
STRICT PRESS (8s 40-40-40

Today was interesting...

HANG POWERCLEANS (3s) 40-50-60-70-80-90-90
CLEANS (3s) 80-90

Short session, but went in late and had to prep for my first ever bike commute... 10 miles into the office. :o

End result? Cyclists are weak. ;) :D

Yeah, it would be great (having used a bro's bike with cleats) but I am not spending £60+ to "save" money... :o

If and when I get a time trial bike, then absolutely... But not on something like my current bike (Carrera LRS3).

I wouldn't say that it's time trial bike territory. Personally I use cleats for my commute (though I resisted for years...). I started with the idea of just using them for the longer rides I did but the instant I got used to them I switched to using them for all my riding.

Understandable to not want to spend the cash when you first start though.

Urgh. Cycling has completely shafted my proximal groin adductors: sooooo tight! Anybody that cycles for fitness or gainz should really watch out for mobility problems. ..

Went in to the gym this morning without a coffee and regretted it - was not feeling it. :o

BACK SQUAT (6s) 122.5-100-100-100-110 Oof. First set was horrid. After that, I felt like I wasn't pushing hard enough, but just couldn't churn out much more.
SAVICKAS PRESS (5s) 45-45-45-45
GOOD MORNING (8s) 45-55
DELTS AND ARMZ...

Yes the problem is clear - you got tired after a trip to the shops on your Raleigh 20 with the basket on the front ;)

Wasn't even a trip to the shops!

Doing "cardio" whilst relying exclusively on stored muscle glycogen, carnosine and creatine is a very odd thing, indeed... :D

Ah, do you keto? I was looking into it a while back but I decided it was a really bad idea given the amount of cycling I do :p

Nope - far too much structure required for a guy with a family. :D

My point is that my workout regime up until recently consisted of strength/power activities, so localised storage of glycogen, high creatine concentration and carnosine buffers would mean my ability to carry own anaerobic levels of activity for longer than an average joe would be significantly (!) greater.

I've not been a habitual cyclist, therefore my muscle vascular network and mitochondrial density is probably very, very low, making my ability to maintain moderate levels of activity beyond a certain point (probably 30-45 minutes) would be low. However, assuming I maintain my normal workout and nutrition (i.e. lift heavy, eat everything) regime, this sort of thing will continue... and with a bit of luck I won't adapt to endurance exercise.

I hope. :D
