Short session this morning because I was knackered from a late night call with TalkTalk...

BACK SQUATS (3s) 135-135-135 Tapering down for a pair of triples on the weekend, and some 1RM fun to reset my cycle.

Nothing else due to lack of time. Oh, and 10 miles cycling against a head wind of questionable parentage. :mad: And then RideWithGPS didn't even log. :mad: :mad: :mad:

A bit more of a grind than it needed to be, but I felt my core bracing go when I unracked 130kg (so that is where the impact of troughing shortly before lifting goes)... Happy with the 1RM test, however: target was 146kg so 1kg less with crud bracing isn't bad. :) Will see how this feels come next week, and 8s... :eek: :cool:

FRONT SQUAT (5s) 60-70-80 Eurgh - 4 count descents with no bounce (I am deliberately cutting my squats at below parallel rather than end ROM) are miserable! :) Working on a slightly different drive out the hole to reduce torso lean and my goodness does it wreck the quads!

LAT RAISE ss/w OH BARBELL EXTENSIONS Yes. :o

Physio explained my elbow flexor pain is coming from tendinitis of both brachialis and some other forearm muscle... So no elbow flexion under tension for me for at least a week. :(
 
No, it is because you discovered proper squatting. ;)

Mine is simply because I went nuts with some supinated chins around eight weeks ago, srrained something and 'heavy' snatchimg isn't conducive to a nice easy ride for elbows... :D

OH SQUATS (5s) BAR-40-60-60 How can I get a workout without squatting or anything that requires elbow flexion under tension? I can tell I don't do these often: a bit shaky.

I don't know what that means, but it sounds impressive... :eek: Sadly, nothing I did yesterday slots into that category! :o :D

No, just some 1RM test for my squat... And then front squatting for misery's sake...

I have new slicker tyres on the bike, however, and have lowered the handlebars slightly (on a double suspension MTB... :rolleyes: :D
 
Well, 1RM squats followed by front squats would ruin your legs just as much I imagine.

Imperial century = 100 mile ride... I'm sure you can work out what a double is based on that info :p

Slickers tyres on your bike sounds good. Can't say I'd want to commute on a full suspension MTB (or any kind of MTB). Must take about twice as much energy to make that thing move compared to a road bike :p

Yeah - I guessed as much: sounds nasty! A bro is trying to convince me to do a regular 100 mile ride, but I don't think my coccyx could take it at present.

The tyres on the bike were bal, anyway, so needed replacing, so it was just trying to work out whether I should spend £60 on some semi-slicks or £20 on some equivalents... in the end, I'm trying to save up for something a lot faster come spring/summer next year, but at present I have to play with what I've got: a mountain bike. To be fair, I quite like it and it gives me an excuse to try and upset a lot of seasoned MAMILs that use the same commute as I do... :D
 
Yeah... Maybe do a few 60s before a 100, especially with that bike :)

Getting something cheap for now makes sense. Also annoying other riders is awesome fun :D

Even 60s are six times further than I'd prefer! :D

FRONT SQUAT (5s) 60-80-90 These because I couldn't be bothered to split squat. My quads stopped working on the last 90kg rep, which was interesting...
LATS ss/w OH BARBEL EXT (12s) Shoulders feel much better,now, and triceps were pumptastic. :cool:

Will give my elbow another couple of days and then see how it goes...
