I don't think so - I've always put my config in that location I mentioned and it's worked.
If it's working for you then I suppose there's not much point changing it

The confusion is that steam allows for cloud config. My config is perfect till I specify anything local that I want then it collides slightly, every start i must alter settings. Hence I keep cs open, hence I have like 8000 hours
Put this at the end of your config, its sound from one of the maps
Or just put in console. Same for this, see if it helps your lobby -
lobby_default_access 1

I like the M4 and p90 opened from those cases. I figure the really quality designs should go up in price, are worth keeping. The system does gradually fade out the availability, the oldest skins are rare because cs grew so much recently

Getting fed up of trying to create a lobby and random bots joining/spamming the lobby/not being able to kick them.
Got the lobby setup to friends need invites and it still happens. Ideas?

We've resorted to everyone changing lobby permissions to friends only in Game Options, and then inviting everyone quickly and pressing start asap.
Has worked for us today but if you sit about waiting the random bots will join.

So this is inviting 1 person. set to friends only yet they somehow manage to get in the lobby?

Yeah that's the problem - we had to be quick in inviting everyone then hitting go as soon as the last person was in, if you're quick enough you can do it. We've been doing it all night.

Think am just about done with MM again, honestly feel the only point in playing competitive is just ESEA or the new FaceIt with Anti-cheat software.. This VAC Crap is a waste of time.

Ive just subbed to faceit again aswell for the premium queues, just trying to grind through the levels. Its ok.
Think faceit will continue to improve aswell where as esea seems stuck in the mud so to speak.

Dont see them that obvious usually shankly. You made him force that win in the worst way. The ironic thing is 14-16 15-15 and 16-14 scored games dont alter the ranks much because its so close so he was cheating that badly when it mattered the least.
You got the demo right after the game ? He should be an easy overwatch case.
I started doing more cases, trying to sift through them but I guess there is just too many. I must have done a thousand over the years, its not often they tell me yep someone got banned so it'd be nice if they could be more transparent. It might encourage more people to do cases with some feedback.
Im not sure VAC is inferior exactly, faceit has a client now so it can do more. Sometimes vac catches what the other two doesnt, the industry behind hack users changes code every few days to stay ahead. The reason they make a bot in csgo games so bad is the default situation is for every client to know everything, its used for lag compensation and cheats misdirect that to get xray or similar.
I think mm games are closer if done properly. faceit or esea pugs are a big mix of ranks, it could work (and I play pug every week but not faceit recently) but mm was good for closer skill games
If they keep raising the whole reputation thing or xp that'd be something. If they cant gauge cheats then match similar xp, or similar mm wins. They need to put more thought in there or have a permanent systems manager for it, Valve are always changing stuff so I do have some hope

Read about this AI aprouch the other day, while it sound great for the future if it works its going to take years too add into games, one CPU core for each player, 10 CPU cores for one match how meany matches are playing in just a single day at a time LOL..

We had CS running with anti cheat client maybe 15 years ago, most servers. Valve took over and scrapped it I think, they refused to 'share power' or whatever. It was 3rd party but so is the entire dam game at that time, obviously they bought CS but never paid the anti cheat people who did it all for free mostly.

I thought MM didnt let you narrow it down to cherry pick your opponents but the example given was global which in some parts of the world would be a rare game I guess.
Im nowhere close to the expertise that might be available to the hack/boost people but I know of ways to get past vac without much effort. Maybe they'll monitor and cover other avenues also eventually.
I think the reputation system is the best idea, no private profiles allowed for starters. Just make people live by their history, xp record, whatever so there is worth to their actions not just that shiny rank badge.
I must have extreme paranoia last overwatch case the suspect has a karambit and imo was clear enough to convict. Just watched somebody with rust gut knife reacting to silent players, I was asked to observe him and I said he was not legit. I would expect to be wrongly cynical if they have nice gear like that but didnt seem like it.
I recorded the karambit guy to show the vid but I forgot I had cs muted but you can still tell imo, I do wonder if anything but super blatent overwatch cases get passed
