Counter-Strike Global Offensive (CSGO)

Wow. This thread has really really died.

The major is starting today btw, Vega as an underdog ? a lot of people switched to Pubg I think. Faceit is a good idea for anyone serious, mm has to be taken very lightly all things considered.

I want to try out a super lobby at least once, everyone over 500 mm wins in order to get the best trust rating. I've found a couple people similar to my rank and we top 2000 wins between us often, the opponents matched up are not new accounts then (in theory its supposed to help get a proper game going). I dont favour elitism at all, but trust has to improve prime somehow so I hope they figure that out

Dont feel so bad being low rank if GTR is DMG

Anyone tune in to the final yesterday evening? Some amazing CS on show again - one of the best finals I've seen for a long time.
Absolutely awesome, had no idea who was going win, although happy that Cloud9 managed it.

Watched pretty much all of this major for a change, and even the wife has enjoyed watching it.

Did anyone see the match before the final with the commentators and analysts - that was pretty funny :)

First major I've ever watched, amazing. It really is a great spectator sport, watching other people play computer games has never made sense to me until now!

Not touched CS since CS Source, started out on 1.3. I heard CS:GO just full of kids and Russians now, is that true?

Yup pretty much.

When you have a pre-made the game can be awesome. If you have to solo q it's 50/50 that you end up with a non-toxic, communicating team.

I play faceit if I'm solo q but mm if queuing with friends.

Play FACEIT UK Hub or ESEA, it's no where near as toxic as soloing MM. However, soloing non-premium FACEIT can be hilarious at times.

Speaking of FACEIT UK Hub, a nice little 1v3 clutch + defuse on cbble which started the come back to 14-16:

Not played much since before Christmas but I was around DMG, 14 year old account, 1000s of hours.

I only play pre made games with friends who have accounts similar to mine. Trust factor made bugger all difference. In fact it was worse than prime getting matched against sub 100 hour ruskies.

Yeah, was an incredible final, particularly when it got to overtime on the third map. Stewie was an absolute god holding that B site!

Yeah he really dug it out - he was getting so unlucky on Mirage with some of his flanks/ timings; would have been pretty easy to just rage and collapse tbh.

Really made me want to play CS again watching that final.

Was a bonkers finals, just getting past SK more then surprised me. Its a combination of factors I think, this was the major of stand ins. So C9 did enough work as a standing five to form a strategy plus their great aim to beat all the teams, good to see. Watched Tarik streams for a long time, his story is ridiculous from one extreme to the other. Sitting on a broken plastic chair using a 60hz CRT literally squashed into the coat closet of his brothers living room for a gaming setup, you couldnt make it up to then win the first esports global win for North America in 3 years from that start is amazing.

CSGO itself is actually well made I think but its got a toxic situation in its population thats kinda snowballed. Its not exactly from neglect, Valve have updated various factors but they have to find a way to make Trust work. Prime is a fixed bar, the hack makers run MM games with 9 bots to create false accounts to sell so that partly why prime is compromised also.
I think they need a manager to just tweak it and observe effects, they cant just mix 7hr cs accounts in with people who played for years. People think trust is bad, same for cs its actually just needing some finesse.

This one lets you see your teammates through walls basically. This was never in the original game but it is now, might as well use it if you stuck in matchmaking. I doubt its allowed in pro games but MM is basically very casual nowadays is how I view it, its for practising play.

Escape > game options > game settings > scroll down

This one lets you alter the level of every teammate in game voice volume.

Bring up console (enabled in game settings)
enter voice_player_volume
Each player has a number, in the screenshot above Iam Vendetta and my number is 8
enter voice_player_volume 8 0.1

The game will reduce the volume of that player by 90%
If you get a raging russian who you dont want to block absolutely. Or just people who run the TV while they play or whatever problem, its nice to reduce people who swamp comms a bit
Theres two options you want to use in game, might have been missed. I'll post screenshots in a bit

Its extremely variable. I find trust is some improvement but its barely noticeable, especially if not in a solo queue (it will lower trust rating to whoever has least in the lobby).
I have 700 MM wins now, I know people with double that but they dont get a fair game somehow. It might mature but its relying on overwatch to clear out some idiots who have a large amount of hours and arent legit. It may improve some, maybe

Is it too late to get into this? It's my favourite game to watch, I watch every major but I've never really got into it playing wise. I'm pretty high ranked in TF2, OW and PUBG so my aim isn't too bad.

Bare in mind playing mm is nothing like watching the pros, most games you will play will be ruined by russians/hackers.

To progress you really need to have a pre made team of people from civilized countries to queue with or you will have a bad time.

:( Just played my first games in 2 months after a bunch of PC issues stopped me gaming. I was matched with ruskies on my team vs turk hackers. Think I probably got shot and flashed more by my own team than the enemy. The mostly just rushed with dualies screaming cyka blyat until they had eco'd enough to buy awp's. Which they were incompetent with and coulnt use so didnt manage any kills.

Second game wasnt so bad, managed to get a draw so I got my rank back and I can queue with friends again. :( Went from DMG to mg2.
